Danny DeVito Reading 'The Lorax' In Honor Of Earth Day Is Exactly What We Needed

Danny DeVito is such a comforting presence in our lives. He's kind, he's hilarious, and he's always involved in the best news stories.

Information about the coronavirus pandemic is rapidly changing and Diply is committed to providing the most recent data as it becomes available. Some of the information in this story may have changed since publication, and we encourage readers to use online resources from CDC and WHO to stay up to date on the latest information surrounding COVID-19.

Earlier this year, Danny made a plea for everyone to stay home.

In a video released by the governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, Danny posted a heartfelt and hilarious request for people to follow social distancing recommendations and stay home.

"Hi everybody, it's Danny Devito," he began the video.

"I'm asking you from the bottom of my heart, all over the state of New York, stay home," he said, then emphasized, "I mean everybody."

"I mean, we got this virus," he continued.

"This pandemic, and you know, young people can get it, and they can transmit it to old people, and the next thing you know, I'm out of here."

If that video wasn't enough to get you through any struggle, Danny has now released, in honor of Earth Day, a very special video.

Entertainment Weekly

In a video exclusively released by Entertainment Weekly Danny spends fifteen glorious minutes calmly and wonderfully reading from Dr. Seuss' The Lorax out loud.

Obviously, this isn't Danny's first involvement with the iconic story.

Danny voiced the titular Lorax in the 2012 movie version of the novel, the message of which strongly ties to Earth Day, as the story is about environmental preservation and the importance of standing up for the cause.

“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not," reads the story.

You can watch the video for yourself on the Entertainment Weekly website, where you will hopefully feel passionate about environmental conservation and feel overall soothed by Danny's wonderful presence just like I did!
