I used to think I was more of a hermit crab, but as I've grown older, I've learned how easy it is to appreciate a getaway from home. You get the chance to visit new places, experience new cultures, and really just get out of your shell. As your Facebook friends flood you with more and more pictures of their vacation destinations, you start to think that it's your turn to go dip your feet in the ocean or climb the highest mountains, and capture it all for the world to see.
Only problem is, it doesn't always play out that way.
Despite all the beautiful experiences you THINK you will find, there's always a bit of disappointment no matter where you go. You can't let it dampen your whole vacation, but you also can't pretend it didn't happen. So no matter what, make sure to take as many pictures as possible, so that when you go on and on about your trip to Venice, your friends can call you out on all your lies.
