Woman Becomes Adult Film Star After Training to Be a Nun for Eight Years

A career change is not usually as weird as the one 28-year-old Yudi Pineda decided on. After spending eight years at a convent training to be a nun in her native Colombia, Pineda was "lured away" and ended up becoming an adult film star.

Religion And Love

Originally hailing from Ituango in northwest Colombia, Pineda claimed to have been drawn into the church at an early age. As she explained in an interview with local media, she first went to the convent at the age of ten and stayed for eight years studying to be a nun according to The Sun:

"I went to Uraba, and I was at school when nuns came to visit us, and I knew then that I wanted to do that."

So, aged 10, she joined a convent and spent the next eight years in training. She says she was 'very happy' there, but when she got older she 'fell in love' with her religious teacher

A New Job And Chance Meeting

From there, Pineda moved to Medellin and started to work for a local Nestle branch. That's when she ran into the man who would give her the open door into the world of adult film and video.

Modeling And An Audition

She met a man named Juan Bustos who introduced her to the world of adult webcam models. The interesting turn then led her to an audition according to LAD Bible:

"At first I was feeling bad," Yudi said. "But now I am fine with it."

Intervention

Pineda admits that her priest did attempt to talk her out of her new profession. She told the media that ignored his plea and hadn't looked back.

Sometimes you just have to go on your path, and this is a memorable example of that.

But What About Religion?

So having a job in the adult film world means Pineda has given up on her faith, right? Not so fast!

As it turns out, she is still very religious and attends services weekly:

“I also feel good when I go to church. I never miss Friday prayers, Saturday meetings or Sunday mass."

A Love For Adult Film

Pineda defends her new profession by telling folks it is more than just adult situations and sexual acts. She tells the interviewers that she enjoys adult film and self-love on a daily basis.

She also feels that adult film is an "artistic" and "decent" profession. Despite some horror stories we've heard over the years, Pineda is quick to say that there is nothing bad about it.

From Normal Life To Adult Films

While Pineda's tale has a few interesting curves and turns that make it distinct, she is far from the first to dabble in the adult film world after spending time in a "normal role."

Former adult film actress Belle Knox, real name Miriam Weeks, became famous after it was revealed that she was acting in adult films while attending Duke University. When real work didn't pay enough and affected her schedule, Weeks turned to the adult world because it could "allow her to control her schedule, and she could make about $1300 per scene" according to CNN.

Sadly she was outed and faced plenty of harassment until embracing her adult film identity through her reported departure in 2015.

From Adult Film To Normal Life

It is also interesting to see who has gone from starring in adult films to working a real job. Many have done the opposite of Pineda and turned hard into religion, turning their back on their former profession.

Former adult actress Asia Carrera went from being a top name in the industry before her retirement to become a stay at home mom in Utah -- where pornography is illegal, who knew?

Others include Tyffany Million, who went from adult films to becoming a bounty hunter and Mary Carey, who unsuccessfully ran for governor in California TWICE.

One of the recurring positions you see for former adult film stars? Real estate.
