Love Actually is one of those classic films that we've all seen at least once (and if I'm being honest, you can go ahead and multiply that number by at least 100 for me).
After many years of watching, I never realized the really weird age gap between two of my favorite characters, and I hope I'm not alone in this.
You hear those hooves on your rooftop?
Well, I hope not, because it's not Christmas yet, but the holiday is certainly right around the corner.
Oh yes, the family time, the food, the gifts, the food, the joy, and cheer.
But there's one thing hardly anyone talks about during Christmas, and it's Christmas movies!
There's practically white noise on the internet about Christmas movies during the holiday season!
Personally I'm a Christmas Vacation fan (and I love another one we're going to talk about here) but some of the other mainstays are Home Alone, Bad Santa, Gremlins, and Die Hard.
But who cares, don't tell people how to enjoy things and why they should enjoy them.
The fact that I am tirelessly trying to get across here is that there's one Christmas movie that always occupies my VHS player/DVD player/Netflix/whatever.
I may or may not also throw it on sporadically throughout the year, as it's just too good not to watch a few times a year.
I love Hugh Grant a lot, okay?
Except for Billy Bob Thorton as the President of the United States, of course, but does anyone really like him?
He's just super gross.
In the movie, he plays Sam, this angtsy, love-obsessed boy who learns to play the drums to woo the girl of his dreams.
Who amongst us hasn't tried to learn an instrument in order to woo a significant other?
If you came to my house right now, you could probably start an entire band based on all the dusty and unused instruments I own.
Right, sorry. So he goes through his story, he learns about love and whatnot, it all takes place during this most magic of holidays.
But have you ever wondered how old he is?
In real life, Thomas was actually 13 years old.
He just happens to look pretty young for his age (thanks, puberty).
In the movie, she's married to Peter, but Peter's "best friend," Mark, has an insane crush on Juliet.
Mark holds up those signs on Christmas and well, you know the rest.
That never fails to piss me off.
As someone who has experienced cheating first hand, it's always really annoying to see someone betray someone else like that. And he was your best friend, Mark!
Did anyone else think that she looked much older than 18 here? Just me?
And that's not even the craziest part!
Thanks to Tumblr, we're currently freaking out over the fact that Thomas Brodie-Sangster and Keira Knightley are just FIVE years apart from each other.
Again, it's pretty obvious that this is all thanks to our good friend puberty, but wow.
You'd think that there was at least a decade gap between the two, but this is nothing.
The next time I watch Love Actually, I'm going to have a totally different viewpoint and it's going to be weird.
