The world was shocked and saddened to hear of Whitney Houston's death in 2012.
Surprisingly, her estate has decided to keep her spirit alive in holographic form.
The tour, “An Evening With Whitney: The Whitney Houston Hologram Tour,” is set to commence in 2020.
Base Hologram specializes in "harnessing the magic of holographic live entertainment to create concerts".
But instead of being excited to see a hologram-version of Whitney Houston, fans are outraged — calling the tour "disgusting" and "sad".
Pat also acted as Whitney's manager during the larger part of her career.
"And creating a 'wow factor' that extends to an incredible experience to enjoy for years to come."
"We know we made the right decision partnering with Base because they understand how important it is to produce a phenomenal hologram."
"Because of the iconic status that she created over three decades. Her fans deserve nothing less because she gave nothing less than her best."
"And help them share that magic with future generations," she said.
The CEO of Base Hologram, Brian Becker, said that he was confident that they could recreate Whitney's "unmatched level of charisma and emotion" to the stage, and called it an honor to "help add to [Houston's] legacy".
"What we are creating here is a new type of theatrical concert experience designed to capture that magic."
"That’s what we are going to bring to audiences and it’s an honor to be able to help add to her legacy with this project," he concluded.
But fans are really not having it...
And the songs will be backed by her original band and backup singers.
Choreographer, Fatima Robinson — who has also worked with Michael Jackson, Rihanna, and The Weeknd, will also be apart of the tour's production.
So far, they already have 24 dates confirmed all across Europe and Mexico, with more to come.
Do fans have a right to be outraged?
Is this an appropriate way to honor Whitney Houston's legacy?
