Fans Are Outraged After A Whitney Houston Hologram Tour Was Announced

The world was shocked and saddened to hear of Whitney Houston's death in 2012.

Surprisingly, her estate has decided to keep her spirit alive in holographic form.

The estate of the late, great, Whitney Houston, who passed away in 2012, is being criticized by fans for announcing a worldwide hologram tour.

The tour, “An Evening With Whitney: The Whitney Houston Hologram Tour,” is set to commence in 2020.

Whitney's official Instagram announced that the tour will be in collaboration with a company called Base Hologram.

Base Hologram specializes in "harnessing the magic of holographic live entertainment to create concerts".

Shortly after announcing the tour, Base Hologram also released a glimpse of what the hologram will look like.

But instead of being excited to see a hologram-version of Whitney Houston, fans are outraged — calling the tour "disgusting" and "sad".

Fans specifically criticized Whitney's sister-in-law, Pat Houston, for attempting to profit off of Whitney's death.

Pat also acted as Whitney's manager during the larger part of her career.

"A hologram show is all about the imagination," Pat explained in a statement on the company's website.

"And creating a 'wow factor' that extends to an incredible experience to enjoy for years to come."

"Whitney is not with us but her music will live with us forever," she went on.

"We know we made the right decision partnering with Base because they understand how important it is to produce a phenomenal hologram."

"They also know that engaging her fans with an authentic Whitney experience would resonate worldwide".

"Because of the iconic status that she created over three decades. Her fans deserve nothing less because she gave nothing less than her best."

"This upcoming tour will allow audiences to experience Whitney’s amazing voice and passion for music for a long time to come".

"And help them share that magic with future generations," she said.

She added that Whitney "would have loved this holographic theatrical concept."

The CEO of Base Hologram, Brian Becker, said that he was confident that they could recreate Whitney's "unmatched level of charisma and emotion" to the stage, and called it an honor to "help add to [Houston's] legacy".

Whitney Houston was a talent beyond words, and her influence and artistry transcended all boundaries," Brian said.

"What we are creating here is a new type of theatrical concert experience designed to capture that magic."

"When she performed there was an unmatched level of charisma and emotion to it".

"That’s what we are going to bring to audiences and it’s an honor to be able to help add to her legacy with this project," he concluded.

But fans are really not having it...

The New York Times reported that the show will all of the singer’s biggest hits, digitally remastered.

And the songs will be backed by her original band and backup singers.

Including her brother Gary, Pat Houston’s husband.

Choreographer, Fatima Robinson — who has also worked with Michael Jackson, Rihanna, and The Weeknd, will also be apart of the tour's production.

Tickets go on sale in just two days, on Friday, September 20th.

So far, they already have 24 dates confirmed all across Europe and Mexico, with more to come.
