'A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood' Shows A New Side Of Mister Rogers

Oh god, please don't do it! This is going to be some revelatory and evil, isn't it?

Gosh darn you internet, why have you done this for the millionth time?

Don't worry, this won't be anything bad.

We're not going to find out any #MeToo sized revelations about dear old Mr. Rogers.

We can personally guarantee that this won't be a moment where your childhood is ruined.

In fact, it's a pretty nice way to see the guy.

For starters, they don't show him as infallible. They don't show Mr. Rogers as a saint, because that would be defeating the purpose of what Mr. Rogers hoped to achieve:

That everyone could be good if you worked at it.

We also get to see how he interacted with adults privately.

Which, believe it or not, was a lot like how he interacted with kids.

There's one scene in the movie where the main character Lloyd Vogel (Matthew Rhys) and Mr. Rogers are having a talk about the past and Mr. Rogers does an extended scene with puppets.

But, most of all, the Mr. Rogers we've never seen is one who will not stop making you face your problems.

Lloyd Vogel is a messed up guy, and Mr. Rogers, throughout the whole film, works with him to face his issues, even when Lloyd lashes out or even pushes him away.

Really, it's beautiful.
