Director Of 'Avengers: Endgame' Campaigning For Robert Downey Jr To Get An Oscar

Well, if Black Panther's nomination for Best Picture wasn't enough, Robert Downey Jr. winning an Oscar for his portrayal of Tony Stark would add a lot more legitimacy to superhero movies.

Well, 'Endgame' wrapped up a big part of the MCU for us.

And we're still in pain after the death of Tony Stark. No thanks to Far From Home, which wouldn't stop reminding us about the people we had lost.

And then they took Spider-Man! Oh god, when will it end?

Anyways, back in the real world, the Oscars are coming up.

Marvel

A night to celebrate all the greatest moments in film. And honestly, what moment in film was greater (in a bad way) then how Tony Stark sacrificed himself?

Well, the director of Endgame agrees.

Enter Joe Russo.

Marvel

One-half of the directors on Endgame and one-half of the Russo brothers.

He has been campaigning recently to get Robert Downey Jr. his second Oscar, this time for Tony Stark.

Here's what he said in an interview with The Daily Beast:

Marvel

"I don’t know if I have ever seen -- in movie history -- a global audience react to a performance the way they did to Robert Downey in that movie."

Sounds oscar worthy to me.
