Man Opens Can Of Heinz Beans And Discovers Just One Lonely Bean Inside

I'm sure my friends across the pond in the UK will agree that there's nothing quite like slathering some warm beans on a slice of toast and digging in for a rather simple but still satisfying treat.

Unfortunately, beans on toast isn't exactly considered a delicacy in the good ol' U.S. of A, so you'll need to be prepared to endure a few looks if you decide to crack open a can and indulge over here.

But no matter what your opinions of this yummy snack, I think we can all agree that a can of beans should contain beans. Plural. Never just one. That's just bad advertising. It might as well just say "HEINZ BEAN" on the front.

One UK fella was rightfully a little disgruntled when his new can of beans contained just one, lonely lil' bean.

According to Delish, Bristol native Steve Smith was feeling a little peckish after a work meeting. So naturally he turned to his pantry and found a can of Heinz Beans that he had previously bought online.

He opened the can, eagerly anticipating his tasty meal, but that's when tragedy suddenly struck.

As Smith poured out the contents of the can into a bowl, he was shocked to discover just one bean floating in the red sauce.

Someone at the factory had done him dirty and totally skimped on the beans, leaving one lonely legume in the can.

It goes without saying, but Smith wasn't too happy to discover he'd been robbed of nearly an entire can of beans.

Despite his hangry reaction to the devastating can of broken dreams, he was obviously able to see the humor in the situation.

"I thought it was funny, but annoying," he explained. "It was the last tin we had in the cupboard."

Smith recorded a video of himself dragging a spoon through the bean-less juice and uploaded it to Twitter.

He tagged Heinz UK in the now viral post, writing, "I enjoy 'bean juice' as much as the next person, but when I opened a can this evening I was hoping for more than one bean."

The company was quick to tweet their apologies, though there was no public promise of a full can of beans made over Twitter. So who knows whether Smith was ever truly able to enjoy his traditional English snack, or if he was left to dine on a truly saddening meal of bean juice, plus one bean.
