Brody Jenner Breaks His Silence About Miley Cyrus Making Out With His Ex-Wife
Brody's recent ex-wife, Kaitlynn Carter, was spotted making out with Miley Cyrus on a yacht.
This was extra scandalous as, at the time, it hadn't yet been announced that Miley and her husband, Liam Hemsworth, had separated. Many still found it to be disrespectful even after their split was announced.
Brody and Kaitlynn had been married for just over a year, but had been together for six years.

Miley and Liam were also a longtime couple, having initially gotten together in 2009. The two couples were reportedly friends, which makes the pictures even more shocking.
Brody had made a joke about the scandal but had otherwise remained silent.

On a post he'd shared on Instagram, he had joked that he was going to add to the scandal by "holding hands with Liam on the beach."
It didn't look like Miley appreciated the joke very much.

Replying to his comment, Miley said, "Go take a nap in your truck and cool off #HotGirlSummer."
Her "Hot Girl Summer" hashtag was a dig at Brody's own comment.
In a now-deleted comment left on a picture Kaitlynn shared of her and Miley, Brody had seemed to be on board with the duo's outing, saying, "Hot girl summer" with a fire emoji.
Brody has finally addressed the scandal head-on.

He wrote a lengthy Instagram post, saying, "There is far too much negativity being directed at someone I love and care about very much. I feel the need to set the story straight. Kaitlynn and I have been best friends for 6 years, and we continue to be."
"We, like many others before us and many after us, grew in different directions over those same 6 years."

"Kaitlynn is a wonderful person, beautiful and fun to be with, always a positive force in my life. We decided the best move for both of us was to keep our love for each other strong but move forward separately with our live," he said.
"I respect Kaitlynn and care deeply about her. She deserves to be able to move forward in her life with respect and happiness."

Brody's mature statement sounds similar to Liam's, who wrote on his Instagram shortly after the scandal broke, "Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward. "

She left a comment on the post of just a simple heart emoji, which is more than I've ever commented on any of my ex's Instagram posts, so she's beating me on that front.
There have been tons of rumors flying around since this scandal broke.

Including one persistent rumor that Liam had spoken to a news outlet about the divorce, saying, "You don't know what it's like."
Liam clarified that one himself on his Instagram.
