Bebe Rexha Slams Music Exec Who Said She's 'Too Old' To Be Sexy

Okay, time to play Jeopardy. I'll take "Men Giving Unsolicited Commentary On Women's Bodies" for 200, Alex.

Answer: "This mega-star was told that she was too old to be sexy at 29 by a male executive."

Question: "Who is Bebe Rexha?"

So, this is Bebe Rexha.

She's a singer/songwriter with an amazing list of credits.

For the writing side of her career, she calls artists like Shinee, Selena Gomez, and Nick Jonas clients.

She's in the Songwriters Hall of Fame, too.

She debuted as a solo artist in 2014.

While she achieved success with her solo career in 2014, she really blew up in 2016.

She collaborated with Nicki Minaj in April of that year, and the music video for their song, "No Broken Hearts," has over 260 million views on YouTube.

I guess you could say she's pretty damn talented.

She's won so many awards that Wikipedia has a separate page specifically for her awards and wins.

Also, it's pretty obvious that she's gorgeous on top of being incredibly talented. I can't believe that needs saying.

This is what happened.

In an Instagram post, she outlined what went down a music executive.

"I recently had a MALE music executive tell me that I was getting too old and that my brand was “confusing," the post began.

This just in: all 29 year-old women are queens.

Instagram | @beberexha

"Because... I’m a songwriter and I post sexy pics on my Instagram and that’s not what female songwriters are suppose to do, especially for my age. I’m 29. I’m fed up with being put in a box."

Women get better with age. That's just a FACT.

Instagram | @beberexha

"I make my own rules. I’m tired of women getting labeled as “hags” when they get old and guys get labeled as sexy with age."

I'm standing behind her clapping, for the record.

Happy early birthday!

Instagram | @beberexha

"Anyways, I’m turning 30 on August 30 and you know what, I’m not running away from it."

What's that? The sound of the truth?

Instagram | @beberexha

"I’m not gonna lie about my age or sing songs that I feel will sell better because they sound “younger.”"

Why would anyone need to sound younger? People of all ages listen to music. I am speechless.

FINISH HIM.

Instagram | @beberexha

"I’m gonna celebrate my age because you know what, I’m wiser, I’m stronger and TRUST ME I’m a much better lover than I was 10 years ago."

I truly hope he read that post and felt like a complete tool.

The celeb support rolled in.

Taylor Swift turned up with support, all caps, and heart emojis.

Since I am also 29, I'm going to go ahead and declare that our club is led by 1989-er Taylor and fearless queen Bebe.

Rita Ora chimed in.

Instagram | @beberexha

"My sexy songwriting [queen]. You are beautiful, getting sexier with age and your talent SINGS for itself. Keep making those rules."

I love truth, facts, and women supporting women.

Lemoie Anderson, I stan.

Leomie popped off, and I am here to say that she's right and she should say it.

Her advice is universal, too: never try to fit yourself into someone else's idea of who or what you should be!

Oh okay, Justin!

Instagram | @beberexha

I have just learned who Justin is, and I love him.

He's a singer/songwriter, too, and he's written some bangers you've heard of: Justin Bieber's "Sorry," Selena Gomez's "Hands to Myself," and DNCE's "Cake by the Ocean."

This is such a good point.

Trainer Jeanette Jenkins dropped some real facts all over the comments section: women can and are sexy at literally any age.

Not only are JLo and Halle Berry proof of this, but all women are. Thanks.

She's not alone.

Of course, other female singers have been given advice, but to see them talk about it makes me want to scream from the unfairness of it all.

No more comments on women's appearances, okay? Okay.
