Girl Gets Hit By Bird While Riding Roller Coaster In Wild Video

As much control as we might think we have over how our world and the animal kingdom intersects, that doesn't mean our animal friends can't surprise us every now and then.

Although we might be able to decide what pets we want to keep and whether or not we want to eat them, a family of raccoons can easily take shelter in our homes without us realizing it for a long time.

And that element of surprise gets a lot more apparent when we're dealing with flying animals. As the full video proves, the list of places where they can't reach us might be shorter than you think.

When young Paige of Gold Coast, Australia boarded her fateful roller coaster, she was already pretty nervous.

As news.com.au reported, she had to psyche herself up to be able to sit up front on the coaster alongside her uncle Mitch.

The roller coaster she was seeking to conquer? The DC Rival HyperCoaster in Australia's Movie World theme park.

As you can see, the coaster is adorned in superhero imagery, but Paige would soon discover that something else was flying around that day.

Indeed, Paige would soon get too close to an Australian White Ibis for comfort.

These birds are commonly called "bin chickens" in Australia and that's not just because they're considered nuisance animals (though they are), but because it's not unusual to see them raiding garbage cans.

And that day, it seems that one of them should've stuck to the bins.

Because as the HyperCoaster rolled along, it apparently ended up in a rogue bird's flight path and it struck Paige in the head.

Although it came at her fast, the bird luckily didn't seem to cause Paige much harm.

The tension of riding the speedy coaster was suddenly elevated by the shock of the sudden intrusion, but it didn't seem to leave a noticeable gash.

Before the clips ends, Paige can be seen laughing in disbelief with her uncle.

Although many of us would be left wondering what just happened to us, Paige seems well aware that a bird hit her.

All told, this likely turned out to be a worse encounter for the bird than her.

Since it couldn't be located after this happened, however, its status will have to remain a mystery for now.

In any case, it's just one of those things that can happen when a curious animal meets a speeding roller coaster.
