Whitney Houston has no shortage of iconic songs to belt along with — "I Will Always Love You," "How Will I Know?", "I Want To Dance With Somebody," the list goes on and on.
Now, seven years after her death in 2012, a new song has been added to that list.
Whitney's cover of the 1986 Steve Winwood song was recorded originally for her third album, I'm Your Baby Tonight but ultimately wasn't used as Whitney wanted her album to sound more R&B.
"Higher Love" was released as a bonus track on the Japanese version of I'm Your Baby Tonight, but Whitney only ever performed the track live a few times in 1990.
Kygo, the producer behind the tracks "Firestone," "Not Ok," and "It Ain't Me", has remixed the recording. This official release of "Higher Love" marks the first archival piece of music by Whitney Houston since her death.
"Higher Love" was released on June 28th on all streaming and digital download formats.
