Prince Louis Adorably Wore Prince Harry's Hand-Me-Downs For His First Royal Outing

Did you ever wear your siblings' hand-me-down clothes?

Turns out the Royals totally do it, too. Except that it's way fancier, and they do it in front of the press. But it's like the same thing, right?

Anyway, adorable Prince Louis was spotted at this year's Trooping the Colour in some hand-me-downs, and it turns out that it wasn't the first time!

What is Trooping the Colour?

The Royal Family

It's all well and good to know what event the royal family were at, but what exactly is it?

Trooping the Colour is a parade that marks the reigning British monarch's birthday each year.

The tradition itself is over 260 years old!

The whole family came out for 2019's Trooping the Colour parade, which celebrated the Queen's 93rd birthday.

Tiny Prince Louis made his Buckingham Palace debut at the same time, and gave the crowd a wave with a chubby hand.

That outfit looks familiar...

It's pretty easy to see that Prince Louis was sporting a hand-me-down from his Uncle Harry!

He was wearing the exact same outfit that Prince Harry wore at the Trooping the Colour of 1986.

But that's not all!

The Royal Family really wanted to make it a true homage to that year, that's for sure.

For starters, Kate is wearing yellow, much like the Queen did in 1986. Interesting that she didn't go for Diana's red!

And Prince George got in on it, too.

The very unimpressed Prince George was wearing a white button-up with blue piping.

Not only did his outfit color coordinate with his brother's, but it was the same one William wore in 1986, as well.

See what I mean?

Same shirt!

I don't know who planned this—maybe William and Kate themselves—but the attention to detail was impeccable.

I guess the 80s polka dots may have been a little too much for 2019.

I guess William didn't need to do an homage?

I mean, I guess it's an homage if his hairline is beginning to resemble his dad's, right?

OUCH. No, but really, as someone who has an inexplicable bald spot on my hairline, I feel his pain.

The royals have done the hand-me-down thing before.

It looks like they like to do callbacks during different Trooping the Colours!

In 2015, Prince George made his royal debut at Buckingham palace, and he was dressed in a pale blue onesie.

It was first worn by his father!

Baby William attended Trooping the Colour in 1984, and he was wearing the same onesie.

William had cute black patent shoes on, while George had matching pale blue ones. Otherwise, the looks are identical!

The boys share their clothes with their sister, too.

For the Queen's 90th birthday, she posed with all of her grandchildren for a portrait.

You can see Prince George wearing a navy blue cardigan, and Prince Charlotte is on the Queen's lap!

Fast forward to 2018.

Kate Middleton took this sweet picture of Princess Charlotte with newborn Prince Louis.

Notice the sweater? It's the same one Prince George wore for their portrait with Queen Elizabeth on her birthday!

Prince George seems to loan his clothes out a lot, actually.

And why not? It's such a waste to buy new clothes when the kids grow out of them so fast.

For his tour of Australia in 2014, Prince George wore red-and-white striped shorts.

Let's call them vintage!

Well that's the same outfit twice!

Prince Louis wore the same pair of shorts to the RHS Chelsea Flower show, where he ran around like an adorable little rascal.

And his shoes are hand-me-downs, too.

Those tiny t-bar leather shoes that make me want to cry with how cute they are were first worn by Prince George, too.

On that same Australia trip, he rocked those shoes!

In Australia, Prince George wore those same t-bar shoes to the zoo! Cue the crying emoji.

Babies and tiny animals? This is too much. The cuteness is on full overload, people.

We love hand-me-downs! Royals: they're just like us!
