Model With Vitiligo Is Taking Over The Fashion World With Her Inspiring Beauty

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. That's what people say at least. But when you're different than everyone else it's sometimes hard to love yourself and find acceptance from others.

Iomikoe Woods knows all about being different and has now embraced her uniqueness and is a role model to others.

Iomikoe developed vitiligo at 25.

The skin condition in which pigment cells die and cause the color of the skin to lose its pigment. Between 0.5% and 1% of the world's population has vitiligo.

Because of her unusual skin condition, Iomikoe had to deal with a lot of negativity and anxiety.

But over time she started to gain more confidence and self-acceptance.

This has all been more possible with the support from her fiancé, her children and the rest of her family.

She's been on the road of positivity and healing.

When Iomikoe developed vitiligo she received so much negativity she even refrained from leaving her house.

She opted to only wear long sleeves to hide her condition. There are still many people who are ignorant about vitiligo..

Her outlook only started to change when she met her fiancé who made her feel loved.

As her confidence grew she became determined to follow her mission to empower others.

And she made a conscious effort to stop hiding behind makeup and layers of clothing.

While working on her own issues, Iomikoe also looked towards others for inspiration.

One of her role models is the Canadian model and spokesperson, Winnie Harlow who lives with the same skin condition.

Today, Iomikoe is doing great and has a number of projects she's involved in.

One of them is her own book called The Spotted Girl Who Empowered the World.
