High School Yearbook Adorably Includes Pic Of Student's Service Dog

There are some surprisingly easy ways to make a lot of people happy, and they often involve the word "yes." I know, sometimes you have to say no, but in this case, a photographer and a yearbook editor saying yes sure brought smiles to a lot of people, and it was so, so easy.

And really, who could say no to that face?

Students at Virginia's Stafford High School got a sweet surprise when they flipped through their yearbooks, as they had been blessed with a presence of pure goodness.

Situated right next to student Andrew Schalk was his service dog, Alpha, looking both surprised and honored to be putting in an appearance. Needless to say, Alpha basically won the whole yearbook.

And it turns out, the school is quite fond of Alpha.

I mean, they gave Alpha his own ID card! He's definitely an important presence in the school, first and foremost for Andrew. He has Type 1 diabetes, and Alpha can actually smell changes in his blood sugar levels, allowing him to alert Andrew if it becomes dangerously low or high.

And, since Alpha is his constant companion, Andrew asked if he could be included in the yearbook pics.

Obviously they said yes — and just like that, a star was born. In fact, Alpha was such a hit that he was invited back the next year for senior year pics.

What a handsome lad he is!

It's not a real surprise to Andrew that Alpha has been such a big hit.

"He has been a great companion and added a lot of brightness to my school's environment," he told BuzzFeed News. "It brightens people's days seeing him in the halls or in my class and I love being able to have that effect on people."

And we can't disagree that Alpha sure brightens the day!
