Oh, Jaime Lannister. What a long strange trip it's been.
Recently, we said goodbye to Jaime as Dany burnt down all of King's Landing and the Lannisters with it.
Fans have gone through it with Jaime. We've hated him, we've loved him, and we haven't known how we felt about him.
On the most recent episode of Game of Thrones we thought we were saying goodbye.
In an effort to get to Cersei, Jaime had to first go through Euron Greyjoy.
It was his final battle before he met, what we originally thought, was his final fate.
Cersei and Jaime got a very...undramatic death, which is strange for a Lannister.
But perhaps it's not the end for one Lannister after all.
Buckle up, this is a little bumpy.
A fan actually has proof that Jaime may not be lost to us after all! Wouldn't that be something!
The Tumblr user pointed to a very strange exchange between a Twitter user and an EW writer.
That seems a little sketchy if you ask us.
Why would he be holding onto Nikolaj's interview? He did one for Lena Headey (who plays Cersei) and Rory McCann (who plays The Hound) but not for Nikolaj...
They wrote, "Apparently James Hibberd also said there was a character he was surprised to see alive in episode 6. I don’t think there is any other character at this point that we would be shocked to see alive except Jaime. Prove me wrong."
The cast didn't seem to acknowledge the fact that they were saying goodbye to Nik.
In fact, not even Nik seems to be admitting defeat.
And after all Brienne and Jaime had been through, you'd think Gwendoline Christie would make some sort of statement about Jaime dying and Nikolaj's run on the show ending.
She uploaded this photo with the caption, "HAPPIER TIMES. 2014." and that's it. Notice how it doesn't actually say anything about Jaime dying or Nikolaj being done with the show.
When asked by The New Paper if fans would be satisfied with how Jaime's arc ends, he replied, "Who knows if it is an end. Maybe it's a new beginning. You never know."
Like, say, what might happen if you're ready to die with your sister-lover in a collapsing building, but you miraculously survive, and the worst influence on you in your life is finally gone, perhaps?!
Seriously, how would he escape a falling building? The magic of Game of Thrones will have to explain it to us.
What do you think about this theory? Let us know in the comments!
Or did she? If Arya can manage it, maybe Jaime can too. Maybe Jaime's just trapped under the rubble somewhere, and someone might come find him.
Maybe Arya and her white horse?
