Singer Joy Villa Wears Anti-Abortion Gown On Daytime Emmys Red Carpet To 'Empower Women'

Fashion can be an incredible way to make a statement, although most people generally don't take that so literally. Singer Joy Villa has made a habit out of wearing literal statement pieces on the red carpet, and she did it again at the Daytime Emmys this year.

You might remember Joy from some of her other red carpet moments.

At the Grammys this year, Joy turned a few heads by wearing this black and white dress designed to look like it was made of bricks. In bright red letters, the back reads "BUILD THE WALL".

Her extremely vocal support for Donald Trump has caused some backlash for her in the past.

Her accessorizing her dress with a red "Make America Great Again" purse and barbed wire-esque shoulder plating earned her some harsh criticism online.

At last year's Grammys, Joy made a different kind of statement.

In 2018, Joy wore a white dress with a hand-painted fetus-in-utero on the skirt, with a purse that read "Choose Life."

There's always backlash waiting for her.

Usually along with a chorus of people googling "Who's Joy Villa?" which is probably what she really wants in the first place.

Joy echoed her previous opinion on the red carpet for the Daytime Emmys this year.

This time in a white and green dress adorned with outlines of storks carrying babies on the top and on the skirt. The real kicker, of course, was what was printed on the back.

The back of the skirt reads "PRO LIFE IS PRO WOMAN."

As we've seen before, subtlety is not a major component in Joy's fashion decisions. Controversy is key, and she always manages to stir one up.

Joy says she wore the dress to "carry the message of life and empower women."

She tweeted her support for pro-life organization Save the Storks, whose logo is the stork design printed on her dress.

Some people are left with some pretty valid questions.

It's pretty clear that whether you agree with her views or not, Joy knows how to get people talking about her outfits. Unfortunately, talking about her music doesn't seem to follow suit.
