Kevin Smith Shares Crying Pic After Stan Lee's 'Captain Marvel' Cameo

It feels like just yesterday we were saying goodbye to long-time Marvel Comic leged, Stan Lee.

Even after his death, his legacy still lives on, and is making us all cry.

Mild Captain Marvel spoilers ahead.

As you may or may not know, Stan Lee has notoriously made a cameo in nearly every Marvel movie of recent memory.

A lot of people look forward to spotting Stan somewhere in the movie.

"Captain Marvel" is the first movie to premiere since Stan's passing.

And it started off by honoring Stan in the best way possible. You can spot a montage of Stan's previous cameos during the opening credits, as well as a black screen that reads, "Thank you, Stan."

Stan had filmed his "Captain Marvel" cameo before his passing.

And so there were a lot of emotions that ran high when he finally appeared in the movie.

His cameo involved Stan sitting on the bus, reading over his lines for the "Mallrats" movie.

The 1995 movie, written and directed by Kevin Smith, featured Stan Lee.

(For those who didn't know — Captain Marvel takes place in the '90s.)

Naturally, Kevin Smith saw the movie and was completely touched to see the "Mallrats" nod.

I'm sure he never thought that a movie he made in the '90s would be mentioned in a 2019 flick.

He shared a pretty emotional photo of himself on Instagram, explaining that he was a "blubbering mess".

He seemed overwhelmed that the movie had referenced him, and thanked Marvel Studios for the cinematic shout-out.

Fans were just as touched by the cameo, and were happy to see him for what could potentially be the last time.

It really was the cutest thing.

There's a lot of people wondering if we're going to see him in the next Marvel movie, "Avengers: Endgame", or not.

I guess we'll have to wait and see!
