People Are Livid After PETA Slams Steve Irwin In Aggressive Tweet

While people were busy celebrating what would have been Steve Irwin's 57th birthday, PETA was jumping on Twitter, making some enemies.

Last week, Google released a doodle in honor of Steve's birthday.

Google

It was beautiful. It perfectly celebrated his short life and all of his achievements that came with it.

Everybody was really enjoying looking back, and reflecting on what an impact Steve had made.

We also got a reminder that his kids are all grown up, and really living up to the Irwin name.

Unfortunately, every party has a pooper, and PETA was there to rain on everyone's parade.

They tweeted about the "horrible" things that Steve had done in his lifetime, and how the Google Doodle sent a dangerous message.

The continued on a rant.

"A real wildlife expert & someone who respects animals for the individuals they are leaves them to their own business in their natural homes," they wrote.

As you can imagine, people were not impressed with PETA.

I mean, it was Steve's birthday, leave the man alone.

Drake Bell was quick to clapback and shame the organization.

"He was a FATHER and a HUSBAND and did WAY more for wild life conservation than the IDIOT INTERN hired to write this tweet!" he wrote.

The Australians have been angered.

Now they've done it. If there's one nationality I'd never want to mess with, it's the Aussies.

What's hilarious is that they had their auto-replies turned on whenever you typed #donate.

Needless to say, people had their fun with that.

Maybe if PETA had taken the time to read through the Google Doodle, they'd have a better understanding of Steve's conservation efforts.

It's nice to know that so many people have his back. We miss you, Steve!
