People Swooned Over This Husband's Viral Post About His Curvy Wife

Every once in a while, certain gems like Robbie Tripp arise from the depths of the internet to prove to the world that true love really does exist.

He took to Instagram to share a super sweet message about his wife, Sarah Tripp, just because he's a true prince charming like that.

Now, it's always sweet when guys publicly declare their love, but Robbie's message was about more than that.

The focus of his message was on her curves, and how much he loves them, despite society teaching men to desire women who look like they just stepped out of the cover of a magazine.

"I love this woman and her curvy body," the post begins.

He explains that he used to be teased a lot as a teen for being into girls who were shorter and what other guys might call "fat". As he matured, he realized how much of that was due to the way women were portrayed in media.

"I realized how many men have bought into that lie."

Then he turned his attention to wife.

For me, there is nothing sexier than this woman right here: thick thighs, big booty, cute little side roll, etc. Her shape and size won't be the one featured on the cover of Cosmopolitan but it's the one featured in my life and in my heart.

He explains that it's not just the curviness he loves, but the confidence too.

He wants other men to realize how beautiful a real woman can be.

She's real. She has beautiful stretch marks on her hips and cute little dimples on her booty.

And he wants women to know that they don't need to fit the mold to be loved.

There is a guy out there who is going to celebrate you for exactly who you are, someone who will love you like I love my Sarah.

Would it surprise you to know that this post went viral in no time?

In only a few days, they had been featured by people like The Today Show and PopSugar.

In a follow-up post, Robbie said:

Seeing men from around the world tagging their girlfriend/wife and telling her how much they love her curvy body has been amazing.

Of course, not everyone wanted to praise him.

During the height of the post's popularity, Babe.net published a scathing article with the headline: "Our standards are so low, we’re celebrating a man for being attracted to his wife."

In their breakdown, they take issue with the overall tone of his statements.

They note that while he talks about people teasing him about liking "thicc" girls, he never acknowledges the — likely much worse — bullying those girls would have received too.

They also bring up how he seems to pat himself on the back for being "woke" about feminism.

While he does seem proud of himself for getting educated, I don't know if I agree that he seems pompous about it. A lot of men don't even bother to learn abut feminism at all.

I do agree with them that it would be nice to hear about something other than his wife's body parts.

I mean, it's awesome that she has curves and he loves them, but he never pauses to mention her mind or personality beyond confidence in that very same body.

It can't help but feel a little bit patronizing for a lot of people.

By focusing only on her looks, he's inadvertently making everyone else only focus on that aspect too.

But I think his heart was in the right place.

And while Babe.net has some valid points, they take it too far too. In a follow-up article criticizing another of Robbie's pro-Sarah posts, they referred to people who praised the original post as "sincere losers," linking to a positive BuzzFeed article.

By openly insulting those who might have found Robbie's message refreshing, they undercut their points.

While I do think there are flaws in his message, particularly around the focus on only a woman's body and not her mind or skills, they've thrown the baby out with the bathwater.

If we put down every guy who tries to send a positive message, then they'll just stop trying.

Luckily, Robbie doesn't seem to have let it stop him from praising his wife on social media and helping her achieve her goals.

As for those accusing him of using his wife to gain personal fame, Sarah had her own message for them.

@tripp and i often hear/read comments that he is “riding my coat tails” in this crazy social media world and influencer industry. my longtime followers will know this, but Robbie has been by my side and supported this dream literally since day one.

Together, Robbie and Sarah work toward continuing their message.

Through the blog Sassy Red Lipstick, Sarah focuses on fashion and body positivity. She credits Robbie with giving her the confidence and push to start the blog in the first place.

Now she writes the content while he takes photos and keeps the site looking great.

Talk about a dream partnership.

In the time since his original post, it seems like things have only gotten better and better. This past Valentine's Day, he was gushing all over again.

"I guess I never really knew that it was possible to love another human being this much."

He continued:

My definition of beauty became what she is. My previous preconceptions of what a relationship should look like were exceeded by everything she brought into my world.

My heart is bursting just from reading that. Sarah, you've got yourself a good one, and if that makes me a "sincere loser," so be it!
