This 'Choking On Food' Meme Perfectly Captures The Absurdity Of Anti-Vax Arguments

The anti-vaxxer movement has become a dangerous entity in modern parenting, and this meme points out the absurdity of it in a huge way.

The anti-vaxxer movement has been a thorn in the side in the modern medical community, with the spread of misinformation, the return of treatable illnesses that had been eradicated, and the endangering of vulnerable children.

A Hilarious Meme

Although this is a serious problem, sometimes the internet's only way to cope is through jokes, like this meme which points out the absurdity of the anti-vaxxer logic. Can you imagine not feeding your kids because of choking hazards? Of course not.

The ridiculous font really seals the deal, hilariously mocking every misguided Facebook post decrying the health benefits of vaccines.

A Good Point

The most damning part of the meme is the skewering of the logic and faux intellectualism.

Now plenty of people will point out that food supposedly “prevents starvation,” and that might be true, but it’s not fair to completely ignore all the dangers food poses, like choking, allergies, gingivitis, and garlic breath. I’m just saying, do your own research and decide what you think is best for your kids. If you choose to give your kids potentially dangerous food, that’s your problem, but as a parent, I don’t think the government has any right to tell me that I need to feed my kids.

While this post is obviously a joke, there is a lot of truth to it, and it had a lot of commenters online piling on and thanking whoever made it for pointing out how ridiculous it is to be against vaccines.

Everyone who has died has eaten food?!?! Time to throw that nonsense out right away!

Poisoning Others Too

The dark reply that "randomly poisoning other people's food on the side too" was too, too real. While the safety of your kids should be enough of a reason, the potential threat posed to society should be further proof to vaccinate your kids.

Others were quick to point out that if this seems like an illogical argument, it's just because it is. There is a complete absence of logic here.

More Reasonable Than Anti-Vaxxing

Others pointed out that despite the gaps in logic, this was STILL a more logical stance than not vaccinating your kids.

Please. Listen to doctors and vaccinate your kids. If only to stop the endless memes.

Bacon!

You can't have a conversation about food without bacon, of course. Even if it is a silly, hypothetical about food, we still need to have it in there. Much like cooking these days, bacon not being there is just weird.

The Counter-Argument

Reddit

And yes, a few counter-arguments made their way into the fray. This one wants you all to know that people survived without vaccines for years, overlooking the fact that people used to die at the age of 30.

These People Exist

The previous post and then this one just goes to show that these people exist. They're out there making comments, posting "facts," and changing minds away from common sense.

Don't Go Outside!

If you need another silly example here, it would be funny to see that people don't let their kids go outside because of bad things have happened out there. It is ridiculous.
