Ho Ho Ho! Garth Brooks And Trisha Yearwood Announce Live Christmas Special On CBS

I think that to make up for the stress, hurt, and fear caused by the entire rest of the year 2020, Christmas should get to be extra special this year. I'm talking double the presents. I'm talking double the days off from work. I'm especially talking extra holiday specials to sit down with your family and enjoy the brief moments of them not talking or arguing about who gets to sit next to who at the dinner table — I mean, enjoy the holiday spirit all together.

Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood have heard me, and they're answering my requests!

Garth Brooks is amazing.

I don't have to tell you that he's a country music legend — his two Grammy wins and ten more nominations, along with his 23 Country Music Awards (and 49 nominations) do that for me. Who hasn't rocked out to 'If Tomorrow Never Comes,' 'Friends In Low Places,' or 'The Dance'?

And his wife, Trisha Yearwood, is a legend in her own right. Talk about a power couple!

'She's In Love With The Boy,' 'Walkaway Joe,' and 'Georgia Rain'? Garth and Trisha just might be the couple who's finally earned the title of the King and Queen of Country Music.

These two have been part of the reason that 2020 has been bearable at all.

Garth and Trisha have been performing concerts so popular they've been crashing entire social networking sites.

Back in March, the couple put on a free concert on Facebook Live that was so popular and watched by so many people (oh, you know, just 5.4 million, no big deal) that it actually crashed the entire platform because too many people were trying to watch it.

That's the reason I don't do Facebook Live videos. I can only assume I would have the same issue. Right?

They're bringing that same performing magic that crashed Facebook Live into a brand new holiday special on CBS!

"Celebrate the holidays with us!" Trisha shared on Facebook. "We are returning to CBS for a one-hour concert special, “Garth & Trisha Live! A Holiday Concert Event” Sunday, Dec. 20, 8:30PM/7:30 C. What should we sing? We are taking requests!"

“Our viewers loved reaching out directly to Garth and Trisha to request their favorite hits back when the pandemic first hit," said Jack Sussman from CBS.

"It brought some fun and joy directly into their living rooms as they were hunkered down with their families. Now, nine long months later, who better to bring some holiday magic, performing some of the greatest holiday songs of all time than Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood," he continued.

I cannot wait!

Obviously, fans are excited and already making requests.

"First I want to thank @CBS and I definitely want to thank @trishayearwood and @garthbrooks for doing this special right at Christmas time. Stuck in the house and helping kids on-line school so this special will help everybody that loves live music. STAY SAFE AND LOVEONEANOTHER!" tweeted one fan.

I couldn't agree more!
