Boy With Cerebral Palsy Wins Halloween With Epic 'Beetlejuice' Costume

Some people live the entire year looking forward to a specific holiday. For some people, that holiday is Christmas. But, for the best kind of people (like me), it's 100% Halloween. The ability to dress up as your favorite characters and creatures, walk around town and snag some free candy, and watch scary movies — you can't beat it!

When you're a kid, there's nothing like celebrating Halloween.

Halloween is epic and iconic for young kids. It's that one day of the year where dressing up is cool and fun. Plus, your parents let you eat as much candy and sugar as you can.

Whether it's from photographs our parents save or even just from our memories, we all have those special Halloweens we remember fondly. Maybe we loved our costume, or maybe we just had a ton of fun with friends.

Sometimes, parents go above and beyond to make our memories special.

There are just some parents out there who want to go the extra mile for their kids so that they experience everything and anything they can in life, especially when their child is a little different.

Dad Tony Alfano made sure that his son, Anthony, had one of the best Halloweens ever in 2018.

Nine-year-old Anthony Alfano from Illinois wanted to have one epic Halloween and his dad made sure he could get it done. For Anthony, Halloween isn't just a holiday, but a way for him to escape his "real life."

Anthony has cerebral palsy and looks at Halloween as a "way to transform."

"He's always seen as Anthony the boy that can't do nothing. I just want to make him not be seen that way. Halloween costume is like the best disguise," Tony Alfano told ABC.

The 9-year-old has a lot of struggles that many of his other peers do not.

Due to his condition, Anthony cannot feed nor dress himself like his peers can. Therefore, his parents helped him a lot with this costume and idea for Halloween.

Anthony decided to dress up as Beetlejuice and recreate one of the most iconic scenes from the movie.

Showcasing the waiting room scene from the movie, Tony was able to build a "couch" around Anthony's wheelchair to make this costume that much more realistic and epic.

Anthony's mom, Deanna, said that nothing makes her happier than seeing her son happy and making others smile.

"It feels like this was kind of like our purpose to bring Anthony into people's lives and homes and to brighten their day and put a smile on their face," she said.

Tony said that Anthony always loves Halloween and dressing up, never coming home with an empty bag from trick-or-treating.

"Anthony always goes home with a full bag of candy, and M&Ms are his favorite," according to a report by ABC News. Clearly, this little boy and his costumes are a town favorite.
