Influencer Couple Pays $100K To Reveal Baby's Gender On World's Tallest Building

A pair of influencers have just blown all other gender reveals out of the water after announcing their impending arrival with a brilliant light projection on the world's tallest building, Newsweek reported.

Anas and Asala Marwah, the couple behind the "Anasala Family" YouTube channel, would have had to splash out $100,000 to light up Dubai's Burj Khalifa with the gender of their second baby, an ostentatious stunt which they proudly filmed and shared with their more than 7.7 million followers.

In the 15-minute long video, the couple begin by sharing the moments spent leading up to what they've dubbed "the biggest gender reveal ever."

As Anas and Asala explain, the reveal took nearly two months of planning to complete, and they made sure to keep it a secret from all their YouTube followers to both make it a surprise, and because of health concerns.

"Because of [COVID-19], we were afraid that if we told you, many people will gather in the same spot," Asala said in the video. "And that [would] be harmful."

In the moments leading up to the big reveal, the couple could hardly contain their excitement.

"My heart is beating, I feel it is going to pop out of my chest and I feel much more excited than my wedding day," Asala admitted as she and Anas headed to their viewing spot on a balcony below the 2,722 ft-tall Burj Khalifa.

"Regardless if it is a boy or a girl, I love you so much and I hope you watch this video in the future and know how much the Anasala family love you."

Before the actual gender was announced, the couple, as well as their family and friends, were teased with lights projected up on the side of the building.

The enormous tower lit up with blue and pink swirls, and even showed brief animations of Asala and Anas' silhouettes holding hands together.

Then, finally, the countdown from 10 began, and when it hit 0...

...the pair found out they are having a baby boy!

Everyone around the couple erupted into cheers as they embraced each other and their daughter, Mila.

Still entirely lit up in the color blue, the tower projected the message, "Congratulations Anasala Family."

The video, which was shared to the couple's YouTube channel on September 8, has currently been viewed more than 18 million times.

As a spokesperson for the family told the Daily Mail, "This was more than just a gender reveal, Anasala were attempting to create content that has never been seen before worldwide! Which was accomplished."

While gender reveals have become more popular and clearly even reached incredible new heights, the woman credited with conceptualizing them says she regrets ever starting the trend.

This is especially after news of the recent gender reveal party in Southern California's San Bernardino County, in which a fire sparked by a pyrotechnic device burned through acres of forest.

"I've felt a lot of mixed feelings about my random contribution to the culture," Jenna Karvundis said in a long Facebook post. "It just exploded into crazy after that. Literally - guns firing, forest fires, more emphasis on gender than has ever been necessary for a baby."
