Quotes For When You Start Losing The Dating Game

Okay, not to rub it in or anything, but I am so glad I am not part of the single scene anymore.

Listen, I did my time. I spent years dating the wrong people, forever wasting my time on guys who most certainly did not deserve even a second of it, and hopelessly deleting and reinstalling Tinder on my phone until I couldn't stand writing new bios any more.

So believe me when I say, I know the pain of trying to date nowadays, and it is a pain I hope I never have to experience ever again.

First of all, let's talk about the kind of guys who are usually single when you are.

They're not all winners, ladies. In fact, if I can be blunt, I'd say they're all pretty much losers.

I've dated a whole spectrum of terrible guys, from a semi-pro gamer who didn't really understand actual human emotion, to a pre-med student who drove a BMW but couldn't seem to pay for a single meal.

More than once, I just gave up on the whole "dating" thing and decided I was better off single.

After all, trying to find someone to spend the rest of your life with, or at least a few good years of it, is exhausting.

You ever just get tired of going on first dates and talking about yourself to someone who probably couldn't care less, and trying to gauge whether this is actually going somewhere until he invites you back to his apartment he shares with five other roommates?

Yeah, me too.

But inevitably, I always found myself getting right back in that stupid game even though I was pretty over playing it at that point.

Whenever I would complain about the terrible guys I was meeting to my friends (none of whom were ever single while I was, by the way), they'd always say the same thing: you gotta get past all the losers before you can find Mr. Right.

Which is always super helpful to hear.

And not to add any salt to the wound that is dating, but it just gets harder the older you get.

But as trite as it sounds, eventually all that hard work and determination pays off. Eventually you find someone who makes all those other fools you went out with seem like they were all worth it in the end, since they all somehow wound up leading you to the person you'll wish you'd been with the whole time.

And if that doesn't happen, there's always alcohol. Lots and lots of alcohol.
