Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are undoubtedly one of the most iconic celebrity couples of our time.
Their relationship was a whole era that some of us — and by some of us, I mean me — are still not over.
Unfortunately, their 2016 split seems fairly permanent. But recently, Angelina opened up to Vogue about her decision to separate from Brad.
Their 12-year relationship will forever be a staple in pop-culture, and tbh, I'm still not over it.
At the time, this was seen as controversial because Brad was still married to Jennifer Aniston.
But by early 2005, Brad and Jennifer announced their split, and Brad moved on to Angelina.
"Irreconcilable differences" AKA, Brad was in love with Angelina! Irreconcilable indeed. No two ways about that!
Before we could even process that Brad and Jen were no longer a couple, he was flying to Ethiopia with Angelina, adopting a six-month-old baby.
Fast forward to 2014, four more children later, Brad and Angelina finally tied the knot.
In August 2016, Angelina filed for divorce from Brad due to, again, "irreconcilable differences". She also requested primary custody over their six children.
"This decision was made for the health of the family. She will not be commenting, and asks that the family be given its privacy at this time," Angelina's said in an official statement.
He explained that at the time his split from Angelina was materializing, his drinking had reached a concerning level.
He explained the moment he and Angelina's relationship came to an impasse was in September 2016, when they fought about his drinking habits, aboard a private plane.
But since then, he has cut alcohol out of his life entirely.
Unfortunately, by then, it was too late.
Angelina had decided that separating from Brad would be what's best for her, him, and their six children, Maddox, 18, Pax, 16, Zahara, 15, Shiloh, 12, and 11-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.
“They do simple things like cook or watch movies,” a source revealed to Us Weekly about the children.
In March, a source revealed: “When the kids go over to Brad’s house he makes a point of doing home cooking with them, as well as arts and crafts."
The source also revealed that Angelina "appreciates that Brad gives [their kids] his undivided attention when they’re with him."
“I separated for the well-being of my family. It was the right decision,” she said.
"I continue to focus on their healing."
"Some have taken advantage of my silence, and the children see lies about themselves in the media," she said.
Adding, "In fact, they are six very brave, very strong young people.”
Seems like Brad and Angelina have raised a very level-headed bunch of kids!
