Mom Who Had C-Section Told She Didn't 'Actually Give Birth' By Friends

Pregnancy and delivery can come with a lot of complications sometimes. For many moms, there are different circumstances that cause them to have some changes in their delivery plans. Doctors will often opt for a C-section to ensure that both mom and baby are healthy if it looks like there are complications. It's more common than many realize, and of course, there's nothing wrong with a C-section delivery.

It seems that no matter what moms do, they always receive some sort of backlash from others.

Many moms who do natural deliveries often look down on C-section moms, saying that they did not "actually" deliver their babies. This opinion can be seen as rude and closed-minded by moms who have delivered through a C-section.

Mom-shaming is wrong, but unfortunately, it's real.

Moms always love to judge other moms for not doing things "exactly the same way" as they do. It's hard to understand how women can tear each other down like this.

One Reddit user wrote into the parenting forum with this exact problem.

The mom wrote into the popular Parenting subreddit, saying that her friends have not been supportive at all when it comes to her C-section delivery of her newborn child.

The title of the post itself is enough to get anyone enraged.

The Reddit user simply titled the post, "I found out I actually didn't give birth."

Immediately, I got angry because I had to brace myself for what was to come.

The mom said that she had an emergency C-section when delivering her son.

They decided to have a get-together with friends after their son turned six months.

"So I had an emergency c section six months ago. My partner and I decided to have a small get-together with friends. One of his friends whom I can't stand and genuinely believe is a sociopath asked me if my son got a birth certificate," the mom said.

Why would a friend ask if her son got a birth certificate? Well...

The next comment was one that absolutely no one was prepared for.

"I was pretty confused and replied with a yeah.. Then he informs me I shouldn't have gotten one because I did not give birth my son was extracted from me like a tumor," she wrote.

Clearly, this person has no idea what they are talking about.

However, this mom was pretty non-confrontational with the people there.

"His wife and a couple of people snickered with him. I did what I always do which is ignore him because I don't deal well in those situations," she said.

However, she was offended.

She said:

"I wanted to tell everyone they're a [expletive] ding dong though because regardless it's still considered giving birth."

Of course, it is! She carried this child for nine months in her stomach and created life!

People on Reddit were enraged, too.

One Reddit user said that they need to cut ties with this person immediately.

"If one of my friends talked that way to my wife, in regards to one of my children, they 1) wouldn't be invited back, 2) wouldn't be my friend any more," said one commenter.

Others said that the mom should have pushed back, making the person feel dumb.

One Reddit user said:

"Times like this is when a sweet, calm response like 'I’m sorry, I don’t really get it— can you explain the humor to me?' Is perfect. make them feel hella uncomfortable — and if he doesn’t feel embarrassed then he really is a real turd."

Clearly, everyone can agree that this is straight-up insanity.

Under absolutely no circumstances does delivering a baby via C-section make it any less of "giving birth." Moms out there know that carrying a child to full term is not easy, so don't be discouraged by animals like this!
