Fans Just Learned Dolly Parton Was Secretly A Producer On 'Buffy The Vampire Slayer'

As the inventor of the peanut butter cup could tell you, when you take two things that are both amazing and mix them together, sometimes you get an even more amazing result. The same can be said for two of pop culture's most iconic figures who happen to share a birthday: Dolly Parton and Buffy Summers.

Fans recently discovered a bombshell: Dolly Parton was a producer on *Buffy The Vampire Slayer.*

While she wasn't credited, fans realized that Sandoller Entertainment, which produced Buffy, was Dolly's company that she started with her business partner Sandy Gallin.

That's not all she did either.

Gail Berman, who worked for Sandollar, revealed that once Dolly learned that male producers of the show were given more of the royalties than the women, she personally handed over a check to make up the difference with her own cash.

Fans are shocked and amazed.

I can't say that I blame them — Dolly Parton is one of the best celebrities out there, in my opinion, and to know that she had a hand in one of my all time favorite shows? Incredible!

Some fans compared it to another pairing of classic pop culture woman and iconic television show.

The world-famous Star Trek series was only given its start by Desilu Productions, which was the production company started by Lucille Ball. Lucy fought for networks to air Star Trek even though many found it too weird — and look where we are today!

I wonder what other secret connections Hollywood icons have to television history!
