Man Files HR Complaint Against The Most Annoying Coworker Ever — His Cat

Working from home is hard enough right now, but throw some well-meaning yet highly chaotic pets into the mix, and it becomes downright impossible.

Look, of course we love them to pieces. But there's a point when our keyboards have been sufficiently stepped on, our coffee mugs spilled, and our attention pulled away from our work one too many times that we start to feel just a little irritated.

When that happens in the office, we turn to our HR department. So why not do the same while working from home, too?

One man recently did exactly that when his furry coworker quite rudely interrupted his workflow.

According to POPSUGAR, Andrew Sytch and his wife, Sheila, are proud pet-parents to four cats and a pit bull. And while most of their animals have been pretty well-behaved while the pair adjust to working in isolation, one cat named Penelope just can't seem to let her mom and dad get anything done.

So naturally, Andrew decided to write up a formal complaint and file it to his HR department.

Which, in this case, happens to be run by his wife, Sheila.

"Penelope," the hilarious complain begins, "this letter serves to formally document your failure to comply with household regulations, and your lack of adherence to workspace polices. You have been a great contributor to workplace morale and have been meeting your quota with regards to cuteness and chasing hair ties."

The letter continues and outlines some of the areas that makes little Penelope a problematic coworker.

It reads,

"However, your continual insistence on attempting to (or succeeding in) shutting off the power strip and computer in the middle of work hours, insistence on stepping on the keyboard during critical company events, and general mayhem has resulted in significant loss of productivity. We value your contribution to the household, but you must demonstrate an immediate and permanent alteration to your workplace habits or you may face more severe repercussions up to and and including withholding treats."

As Andrew explained, Penelope really hasn't been anywhere close to a model coworker.

"She likes to 'help' my wife with her spreadsheets and emails by walking on her laptop keyboard," he told POPSUGAR. "She actually sent an unfinished email to one of her coworkers."

Well, I think it's safe to say the complaint was justified. I just hope Penelope learns from it and adjusts her office behavior accordingly.

All joking aside, Andrew said he wrote up the complaint to try and lift his wife's spirits a little.

Unsurprisingly, it worked.

"I love it, and it was well-deserved," Sheila said. "As household supervisor I have no problem putting my signature on it."

And indeed she did, right beside little Penelope's paw print.
