Mom Of Six Describes The Moment When She Changed Her Attitude Toward Her Stretch Marks

After giving birth, moms are often faced with many insecurities about their bodies post-baby. As all moms know, our bodies don't automatically "bounce back" after having babies.

Sometimes, we can't lose that baby weight.

No matter how hard we try, our bodies are just different than they once were before we had children.

However, many moms struggle with their post-baby stretch marks.

Whether it's stretch lines or excess skin, many moms feel insecure about their "new bodies" and even give up on trying to maintain it.

One mom, however, is changing the game of body positivity.

Sharny Kieser, mom of six (yes, six), posts tons of photos of her body after kids, saying that she, too struggled with her own stretch marks.

Her Instagram is filled with body-positive posts and photos of herself with her husband and kids.

She reminds moms that their bodies are normal— everyone has those wrinkles, stretch marks, and "lines."

This mom admits she used to hate her stretch marks and said, "If I was ever invited to the beach or a pool party, I'd always decline."

But, she had a change of heart.

"Then one day I overheard my loving husband explaining to a bunch of his friends why he thought stretch marks were beautiful," Sharny wrote.

She began to realize her stretch marks make her who she is: a mom.

"They were a sign of being a woman. They are a result of the great love a mother has, that she would scar her own body to bring a child to life... on and on he explained and the more he talked, the more I got it" she said.

Sharny shares tons of motivational messages and photos on her Instagram.

Many of them include other people's before-and-after photos of their own journeys through body positivity.

She also reminds moms they are only human.

And humans have real bodies, complete with cellulite, stretch marks, and everything in-between.

And, no matter how many stretch marks you may have, you're still beautiful.

She gives the whole "embracing the mom body" a new image and name. And, it's so inspirational.

The next time you feel bad about your belly, remember ladies...

Mom's bodies are truly incredible. They build a whole human life in nine months and bring that baby into the world. Of course, things will look a bit different after this huge accomplishment.

But, different can be beautiful.
