'World's Worst Cat' Finds Forever Home With Private Bedroom

Every animal deserves a loving home, but some have a bit more difficulty finding the right humans to match their personality.

Which is the struggle that Mitchell County Animal Rescue in North Carolina ran into with a prickly kitty named Perdita.

After struggling to sell her finer qualities, the shelter decided to try out honesty.

Their post highlighted the various ways that Perdita may in fact be evil:

"LIKES: staring into your soul until you feel as if you may never be cheerful again; the song Cat Scratch Fever, the movie Pet Cemetery (Church is her hero), jump scares (her specialty), lurking in dark corners, being queen of her domicile, fooling shelter staff into thinking she's sick (vet agrees...she's just a jerk) DISLIKES: the color pink, kittens (yuk they are so chipper), dogs, children, the Dixie Chicks, Disney movies, Christmas and last but NOT least...HUGS. She's single and ready to be socially awkward with a socially awkward human who understands personal space. FREE ADOPTION"

Pretty safe to say that the gambit was a success.

The honest adoption ad went viral and in the end, the rescue received 175 adoption applications.

To sweeten the deal, Arm & Hammer announced that the brave humans chosen by Perdita would get a free one year supply of kitty litter.

They winnowed the applications down to a top ten and then set up interviews.

For those that seemed like good candidates, a meeting with the diva herself was squeezed into her busy schedule of naps, meals, and growling.

They knew they had found the right family when the meeting "included minimal growling and very little slapping."

Her new family changed her name to Noel, in case she simply didn't like her name.

They seem to know what they're doing! Noel will have her own private bedroom for a while, and eventually be free to roam the house, which has plenty of places to climb and even an enclosed cattery with cat pond.

Of course, it remains to be seen whether or not she'll get along with her new feline family.

Noel certainly seems to be warming up to her new humans!

After only a few days, she's already happy to sit on their laps and get a few snuggles.
