Not only was it hilarious (obviously — it was written by Tina Fey, after all) but it was smart and relatable. Even though our own high school experiences weren't exactly as dramatic as Cady Heron's almost everyone could relate to feeling like an outsider desperate to fit in.
The musical has been running since 2017, and has been a huge hit, so it shouldn't be surprising that they want to bring a version of it to the big screen.

Honestly, I am down for any excuse to watch Mean Girls again, and now there'll be two different versions to cycle through on repeat.
