Billie Eilish Reveals She Contemplated Ending Her Life: 'I Didn't Think I'd Make It To 17'

Billie Eilish has been at the top of her game since the moment she started making music. Her lyrics are deep, dark, personal, and relatable, with her voice barely above a whisper.

She has managed to climb to the top of the charts in no time. But it was not an easy personal journey for her.

At the young age of 18, she's had number 1 songs, high selling albums and of course, she's doing the theme song for the new James Bond movie.

She's had so much success in her life already, and she shows no signs of stopping.

But it did not come easy.

With fame came a looming depression, and one night it almost got the best of her.

On Thursday, Eilish gave an interview to Gayle King for The Gayle King Grammy Special.

The show takes place before the Grammys, in order to gather the stars and see where their head is at and what it took to get them to where they are.

But what Eilish told the audience was truly shocking: She had once been plagued by suicidal thoughts.

While she said during the show that she didn't "want to be too dark," she also said that "I genuinely didn't think I'd make it to 17."

"I think about this one time I was in Berlin and I was alone in my hotel." she said.

"I remember there was a window right there. I remember I was crying because I was thinking about how the way I was gonna die was... I was gonna do it."

But what saved her? Eilish replied with two words:

"My mom". And we are so happy to know that she is working on herself.
