So, Jessica Simpson just got the third degree from Tracee Ellis Ross.

After posting a photo on Instagram, where she appears to be skiing on the slopes of Aspen, Tracee scolded her in the comment section.
First of all, you may be wondering what connection Tracee Ellis Ross has to Jessica Simpson.
If you haven't been keeping up with the Simpson-Ross family tree — which is totally fair — don't worry, I'll break it down for you.
Iconic songstress Diana Ross is a mother of five. Two of those five are Evan Ross and Tracee Ellis Ross.
Evan Ross is married to Jessica Simpson's younger sister, Ashlee Simpson.
So, there you have it. Tracee is Jessica's sister's husband's sister.

Jessica's latest Instagram photo features herself alongside her husband, Eric Johnson, her sister, Ashlee, and Ashlee's aforementioned husband, Evan Ross.
"Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds #ASPENEXTREME ❄️," she captioned the post.
It was all fun and games until Tracee noticed that neither her brother or Jessica were wearing helmets.

Needless to say, she was not impressed.
This wasn't the first time that Jessica's been called out for something on Instagram, however.

Back in August, she faced major backlash after being accused of incorrectly installing her daughter, Birdie's, car seat.
She was bombarded with mommy-shaming comments like this one:

She eventually had to disable her comments altogether!
But here's the real kicker ...
Birdie wasn't even in a car seat. She was in a stroller.
Or the time she was dragged for taking her family to Sea World.

This one is kind of understandable since Sea World is straight-up inhumane. For years, these types of establishments have been a hotly debated topic.
So, naturally, fans went off.
While it may not be that surprising that Jessica would take her family to Sea World, I am amazed that she posted a photo of it on social media. She's actually quite familiar with it.

Going there wasn't ethical, of course, but not posting a photo of it could have saved her from an endless stream of backlash.
This fan left a woke af comment, explaining that it's one thing to not be educated on the topic, it's another to promote — unknowingly advocating for businesses that keep animals in captivity.

However, Jessica did not end up taking down the photo, despite the hundreds of comments urging her to.
Speaking of animal abuse, Jessica was also recently called out for wearing snake skin boots in an Instagram photo.

While there were some positive comments on this photo and some fans who assumed the boots were faux snake skin, there were a significant number of people who thought the worst.
As you can see, fans were less than thrilled to see her sporting animal skin for the sake of fashion.

It's funny that she called her out but conveniently did not tag her own brother in the comment, who also does not appear to be wearing a helmet.
Jessica did not reply to Tracee's comment on Instagram. So, to smooth things over, Tracee commented a second time.

In case you were worried that there might be Ross-Simpson drama, don't worry. These two are super close, as evidenced by this post Tracee shared captioned "sisters."
Some fans were surprised to be reminded of their relationship.
It is kind of a surprising connection if you don't keep up with the Simpsons or the Rosses. I know some people didn't even know Tracee was Diana Ross' daughter!
