Photo Of Police Officer Saving Terrified Sloth Stuck On A Highway Goes Viral

Sloths are the veritable Netflix binge-watchers of the animal kingdom. In fact, some species of sloth are so bone-idle that they will only come down from their tree-beds once a week, in order to defecate.

Now that is dedication to your comfort zone!

Whether the adorable little creature was on its weekly trip to the toilet, or simply on an adventure is unknown; however, whatever his reason for crossing the road, the poor thing seemed to have run out of steam half way across.

The picture was taken in Quevedo, in central Ecuador, and was uploaded to the Facebook page for the Comisión de Tránsito del Ecuador. The series of images show officers responding to calls from motorists about the lost animal, and taking time to try and help the creature out in its time of need.

After being checked over by the vet, the sloth was reportedly released back into the wild. The police also took to their facebook page to assure everyone that the sloth was safe after the initial photos.

The post has received over 22,000 shares, and has garnered a substantial amount of comments from people thanking the officers for helping this scared sloth out!

Although, just look at that little face, how could you not offer a helping hand to something so cute!
