AOC Hits Back At Trump After Being Called A Do-Nothing: ‘Try To Keep Up’

Amidst the chaos of impeachment hearings, the ever-revolving door that is the White House (let's not mistake that for evolving, just to clarify) is pulling out its very best distraction tactics. Kind of like when you're at a store and they're like, "Why did you steal that pack of gum?" and you're like, "That's really great but have you seen how sunny it is out today? Damn, what a sunny sun we have."

Here's a recap of this week's episode of The Apprentice: Presidential Edition

In a tweet on November 24th, President Trump called out Democratic House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff and Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for being "do-nothing" in the context of letting the impeachment inquiries overshadow the "real" work they're supposed to be doing.

Unsurprisingly, AOC doesn't put up with flat out lying.

"In my first 11 months, I’ve cosponsored 339 pieces of legislation, authored 15, took on Big Pharma w/ my colleagues in hearings that brought PreP generic a year early & exposed abuse of power," she explains in a response tweet.

"In 4 years, you’ve jailed kids & made corruption the cause celebré. Try to keep up."

This is the government version of 'producing receipts' in an argument, meaning that there's no question here that AOC won this particular fight.

However, Twitter arguments like this are pretty common practice in 2019.

AOC's win here will likely have very little impact on public perception regarding the impeachment hearings, despite a clear dichotomy between those elected officials who are enacting real change vs. those who, you know, withhold foreign aid.
