14+ Times People Were Hit With Crazy Out Of Nowhere

Have you ever seen something surprisingly out of the ordinary, only to have no one believe you when you tell them about it? Maybe next time you should take a pic. Everyone who posted the pics in this list made sure to bring the receipts.

A door for lilliputians.

Reddit | MotorBicycle

Either some nanotech nerd is having some fun with the small door and some groan-worthy puns, or this is, in fact, a doorway into some kind of elfin kingdom.

Long live THPS.

Reddit | sloshncrunch

This driveway reminds me of the levels from the old Tony Hawk video games, where a real-world location is tweaked to include quarterpipes and other skateboarding goodness. I wonder what kind of combo you could rack up here.

This must be what purgatory is like.

Reddit | rakatari

I'm terrible at jigsaw puzzles, and even a humble 500-piece puzzle gives me a feeling of dread. A puzzle like this, with no picture to act as a guide, must have been designed by a sadist.

Everything fits.

Reddit | FatGordon

Honestly, I think this pub has enough wall space to hang its pictures normally. But if you have some right-angled framed art, I guess you need to utilize those corners.

Every home needs one.

Reddit | Hustler_Kamikaze

This old-school hot water heater has a built-in pie warmer up top. If pies were so commonplace back then that this kind of appliance was needed, I kind of want to go back in time.

MTV Dog Cribs.

Reddit | zombiemaster823

This ramshackle structure wouldn't pass a building inspection, but it looks like just about the greatest dog house ever invented. Just look at the doggo up top, lording it over his canine comrades.

Well, it is sea salt.

Reddit | codmac

This sea salt appears to be authentic, considering there's literally a tiny shell in it. Just make sure to take it out before you grind it up because no one wants ground seashell on their steak.

Why?

Reddit | Master_Aar

Airpods are the big thing in the world of headphones these days. I don't own a set so can't really comment on how good they are, but I can definitely say that this gigantic Airpod Bluetooth speaker doesn't need to exist.

Dirty water.

Reddit | unintentionalartist

These two rivers converge in downtown Pittsburgh, making for some stunning views. It's clear from this image that the rivers all contain their own blend of water before it all gets mixed together.

Chonky boi.

Reddit | [deleted]

This polar bear is T H I C C. On one hand, it's a terrifying sight. On the other, this absolute unit looks fat enough that it may be possible to outrun him.

Just give her a good tip, smile, and leave.

Reddit | ImmaBeAlex

I have so many questions here. How did Linda get her moniker, and how did it become immortalized in this point of sale system? Was the service sane or was it...crazy?

I want to believe.

Reddit | onepersononeidea

There are all sorts of interesting McDonald's restaurant designs out there, but I think this one in Roswell, New Mexico takes the cake. It's the perfect architecture for a town whose biggest claim to fame is alien stuff.

Ghost birds?

Reddit | wurmpth

This crystal clear window perfectly preserves the imprint of birds that fly into it. Judging from the fact that these birds were clearly in full flight when they impacted, it looks like they hit it hard.

Sometimes fishing gets weird.

Reddit | SAT0725

This poor deer was rescued by a lobster fisherman off the coast of Maine. Considering it was somehow five miles offshore, it probably wouldn't have made it back to land under its own power.

Don't worry, it's harmless.

Reddit | Jades5150

This guy was surprised to find a weather balloon that had crash-landed on his property. It's nice that NOAA provided an explanation on it, but something about "Harmless weather instrument" just convinces me that it's some kind of spy tech.

Blue berg.

Reddit | viewerdoer

This is such an amazing shot. The penguins show just how big the iceberg truly is, while the incredible blue tint comes from the iceberg flipping over, revealing the part of it that used to be underwater.

This waves may look cool moving in these square patterns, but they also serve as an important warning.

Reddit | hliastik

They usually indicate that a rip tide is on its way, so going in the water when it looks like this is one seriously bad idea.

We've heard that life finds a way, but the places where it does so can still come as a major surprise.

Reddit | SAINTnumberFIVE

For instance, this penny-sized hole apparently had the right conditions to grow an incredibly small garden. Who knew?

If you look closely, you can see why one person's day is off to a really bad start.

Reddit | Mattterino

After a snowstorm, this car buried under so much of the stuff that it's hard to even make out its shape.

If that mirror wasn't sticking out, we'd probably be at a loss for what we're even looking at.

I think it's actually easier to tell what kind of building this is now that they've added solar panels.

Reddit | minombreesmosquito

I've got to hand it to them. It can be difficult to make new additions fit your place's general theme, but this certainly accomplished that.

As much as I like these things, I wasn't aware that the market for them was big enough for this store to exist.

Reddit | disposablepewpew

I actually keep a rubber duck on my desk and now I can only wonder if its long journey to its current home started here.

This likely seems like an aerial view of some tundra, but looks can be deceiving.

Reddit | GretchumKid

Instead, we're actually looking at the pattern some early morning frost made on the roof of somebody's car.

Believe it or not, this interesting pattern wasn't added to this door intentionally.

Reddit | FlyLikeAMouse

What we're looking at here is a fire door and this was simply what resulted after it was scorched when the building caught on fire.

When there's enough smoke in the air, the sun can take on this eerie reddish hue.

Reddit | CousinSlayer69

Unfortunately, there's far too much smoke in the air throughout much of Australia, which is where this photo was taken.

We can put that down to the overwhelming spread of wildfires plaguing the continent right now.

While the uploader was removing an old dishwasher, they happened upon a less than pleasant surprise.

Reddit | MoJoLatte

If it weren't for this sticker, there's no telling how long it would take us to realize that this strange discovery is essentially a mummified apple.

Although this encounter with an arrow didn't prove fatal for a deer, it definitely appeared to have some life-changing effects.

Reddit | VictorJ45

As we can see, the deer's bones continued to grow over the arrow and it's hard to even imagine how excruciating that must have been for it.

It's not like there's a good place to get caught in a traffic jam, but this has to be among the worst locations.

Reddit | SonOfAShepherd2000

That's because this French road, known as "Passage du Gois" is only drivable for a few hours twice a day.

Outside of those small windows, it's submerged under 13 feet of water.

Owls can walk a fine line between seeming beautiful and intimidating, but this one definitely crosses it.

Reddit | massimo_bragi

This owl is known as Asio stygius and although it's a stretch to call any animal operating out of instinct "evil," this one certainly looks the part.

Unfortunately, this peculiar rainbow steam isn't a result of someone inventing a magical potion.

Reddit | nheuver

Indeed, this is perfectly average steam emanating from the uploader's thermos.

It just happened to be placed in such a way that refracted light was able to pass through and create a little light show.

As you might have guessed, this giant bucket is the remnant of a KFC that was torn down long ago.

Reddit | meeeebV2

However, this field's owner apparently liked it enough that they decided to let it stay standing around and create an unusual scene.

That jet set lifestyle.

Reddit | jaconncorp

It's hard to know how things like this trailer made from an airplane ever came to be. Maybe it's best not to wonder, and just appreciate the weird ingenuity of humanity.

This is slightly horrifying.

Reddit | TheSplashFamily

I know the zoo is trying to be reassuring with this note, but nowhere does it say how the glass became cracked to begin with. Bears are super strong, and that glass clearly isn't.

Welcome to...

Reddit | Chudapi

I don't know how the 'S' from this Shell sign became torched while leaving all the other letters mostly unscathed, but it definitely leaves a message about our over-reliance on fossil fuels.

Was it on purpose?

Reddit | Bnickislim

The heartbeat pattern etched onto the glass continues onto the woodgrain of the door. If it was intentional, it shows an impressive attention to detail. If it's unintentional, it's a super happy coincidence.
