120-Year-Old Photo Prompts Bizarre 'Greta Thunberg Is A Time Traveler' Theory

While it's certainly nice to think that we're all unique in our own beautiful ways, that uniqueness doesn't always extend to our physical characteristics.

Simply put, there are only so many faces that can possibly exist in the world and considering how many billions of people have existed throughout its history, it's fairly safe to assume that we've been through them all several times over.

So while it shouldn't be that surprising to find out that someone from centuries ago looks exactly like us, it still leaves us with an eerie feeling.

Sometimes, however, that eerie feeling can get people a little carried away until they start claiming that celebrities are secretly vampires, which Nicolas Cage hilariously found himself having to deny.

However, not only is he far from the only victim of this phenomenon, but he's not even the most recent.

Over the past year, Swedish teen Greta Thunberg's tireless environmental activism has all but made her a household name.

And while supporters appreciate the frank, passionate way she takes those with the power to make a change to task, her opponents can often find themselves getting conspiratorial when they aren't being unspeakably vitriolic to her.

But there's a limit to how crazy the talk about her can get, right?

While some might accuse her of being an actor in support of some shadowy global elite's conspiracy to...apparently make the world more livable, nobody ever accused her of having supernatural powers.

That is, they hadn't until they come across this photo from 1898.

In it, we see a young girl who bears a striking resemblance to Thunberg working at a gold mine in Canada's Yukon territory.

This find is apparently leading some Twitter users to claim that Thunberg has mastered time travel.

Although this doesn't sound entirely serious, the Flat Earth Movement also didn't at first so it can honestly be hard to tell what people genuinely believe.

Still, this theory at least posits that Thunberg is using her secret powers for a benevolent reason. That has to be refreshing for her.

And as if that wasn't already wild enough, some folks apparently also saw this as a reason to believe she's an alien.

After all, how is she supposed to travel through time without the aid of extraterrestrial technology. Magical powers? Come on, be reasonable.

As of yet, Thunberg has not responded to the claim that she is a time traveler.

Although it's not unusual for her to find such a bizarre reaction to an obvious coincidence amusing, there's something else that is clearly on her mind right now.

Namely, she's focused on attending the United Nations Climate Change Conference, or COP25.

As Metro reported, Thunberg had set out for the conference's original location of Santiago, Chile before the event was moved to Madrid, Spain in the wake of political strife gripping the South American nation.

As she tweeted out, "It turns out I’ve traveled halfway around the world, the wrong way:)"

As we can see, however, she has since secured transport and is on her way to Madrid by way of the Azores archipelago in the mid-Atlantic.
