Hillary Clinton Says She 'Wants To Hug' Meghan Markle: 'She Deserves A Lot Better'

Meghan Markle has a friend in Hillary Clinton.

The Former First Lady just spoke out against the unfair treatment of Meghan over the past few months, saying "she deserves a lot better" and that she "wants to hug" Markle.

Aww!

While royal life hasnt been a walk in the park for Meghan Markle, she's lucky to have such a great group of supporters behind her.

Thanks to recent comments from the Former First Lady, this now includes Hillary Clinton.

Since (and even before) becoming a royal, Meghan Markle has really been put through the ringer.

In the past few months alone, the new mom and wife to Prince Harry, has found herself heavily scrutinized by the British media.

For example, when was criticized for holding baby Archie in an "awkward" way at Harry's charity polo match.

This soon led to tons of unfair mommy-shaming online, with most the complaints geared toward Archie's bare head and dangling feet.

That same week, the former actress had been criticized for not wanting to be photographed while at Wimbledon.

This, plus her wearing jeans to the event, led to her being branded as a "nightmare."

From there, things got so out of hand that Harry had no choice but to publicly defend his wife.

"Unfortunately, my wife has become one of the latest victims of a British tabloid press that wages campaigns against individuals with no thought to the consequences," he wrote in a statement released on Oct. 1.

"A ruthless campaign that has escalated over the past year, throughout her pregnancy and while raising our newborn son."

In the emotional statement, he said that the couple was going forth with suing several British publications.

One of those major lawsuits was against "The Mail on Sunday" for publishing the private letter Meghan had written for her father, Thomas Markle.

Others included News UK (The Sun) and MGN, who formerly owned The Mirror, for allegedly hacking into royal voicemail messages.

Months after Harry defended his wife, Meghan got to share her own truth while taking part in the ITV News documentary, "Harry & Meghan: An African Journey."

“I never thought that this would be easy, but I thought it would be fair,” she said.

“That’s the part that’s really hard to reconcile.”

She even revealed that a British friend had warned her against marrying Harry because of the British tabloids.

The friend said: "I'm sure he's great, but you shouldn't do it" and that "the British tabloids will destroy your life."

Sadly, they were right. But the good news, at least, is that it looks like Meghan may have found another friend to lean on.

And that just so happens to be Hillary Clinton.

While speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live host Emma Barnett on Tuesday about Meghan, the Former First Lady said, “oh my God, I want to hug her!”

“I feel as a mother I just want to put my arms around her," said the soon-to-be co-author of The Book of Gutsy Women.

"I want to tell her to hang in there, don’t let those bad guys get you down."

"Keep going, do what you think is right."

She made it clear that Meghan deserves a break, as she did nothing wrong.

“She has made her own way in the world,” Clinton told the BBC.

“Then she falls in love, and he falls in love with her, and everybody should be celebrating that because it is a true love story. You can just look at them and see that.”

She continued: “You know, it’s not easy. And there are some techniques that can be learned along the way, some humor, some deflection, whatever, which I’m sure she will come to."

"But it is tough what she is going through. And I think she deserves a lot better.”

Meghan + Hillary is the friendship we never knew we needed.

Given Hillary's comments, it kinda makes us forget about the time Beyoncé and Meghan met this past summer.

Juuust a little.
