Disney+ Adds Disclaimer To Racist Movie Scenes: 'It May Have Outdated Cultural Depictions'

Well, it looks like there's going to be some racist movies on Disney+. I have to say, a lot of fans (myself included) did not see this move coming.

Interesting choice, Disney old friend. But of course, they still have a fault we have to point out, because that is what we do here.

When we heard Disney+ was coming out, we were excited.

Disney

We knew that we were going to get a whole streaming service dedicated to some of our favorite movies and franchises.

Stuff from when we were kids and certainly stuff we enjoyed as adults.

But there were some movies that we were pretty sure weren't going to make it to Disney+.

Disney

They aged as poorly as forgotten milk.

Whether the people behind them knew or didn't know that some of these movie scenes were racist are beyond us, but the point is: they were racist.

Because seriously, it happens in a lot of Disney movies.

Disney

Dumbo (with their crows), Aladdin (with its racist opening song) and of course, the granddaddy of them all, Song Of The South. Interestingly, Aladdin hasn't received the disclaimer yet.

There was no way these were coming to Disney+ because Disney probably wanted to distance themselves from these products.

Or wouldn't they?

Disney

Apparently, they're going to add some of these movies with all the racist scenes in them (for now), but they're also going to add before the movie:

"This program is presented as originally created. It may contain outdated cultural depictions."
