Nina Dobrev And Paul Wesley Hated Each Other On 'The Vampire Diaries' Making Their Love Scenes Awkward AF

Today we're going to talk about Vampire Diaries, people.

So, if you're into that kind of thing (and why wouldn't you be?) then stick around cause boy do we have some bombs to drop!

Vampire Diaries is a neat show.

CW

It's got love, it's got passion, it's got violence, it's got supernatural beings from the beginning of time.

Everything someone could ever need in a TV show, the Vampire Diaries has got it.

It has some awesome characters.

CW

So many cool characters, from the sexy Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) to the sexy Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley).

And of course, who could forget the sexy Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder)?

I'm sensing a pattern here...

CW

Alright, I obviously think it was a pretty sexy show. But can you blame me?

Seriously, it was like being me in an eye candy store. It was the Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory of Eye Candy.

There was also...

Giphy

This great love triangle between Elena Gilbert and the two hunky Vampire boys, which is always a recipe for great TV.

I was team Elena/Stefan, because they had such great chemistry!

I mean, they were an awesome couple.

CW

They were amazing to watch for the cuddles, the steamy moments, and the drama.

However, offscreen, it wasn't that way at all.

CW

Apparently, the actors who played the characters, Nina Dobrev And Paul Wesley, hated each other off-screen.

Wow, gotta say, the two of them must be very talented actors then.

So there's this podcast...

Google Play

Called Directionally Challenged run by some _Vampire Diaries alumni, where they share stories about the show and etc.

If you're a fan of the series, definitely check it out because it will blow your mind.

Nina was on the show...

CW

And she had a couple of words about Paul. She begins this whole ordeal by saying:

"Paul and I didn't get along at the beginning of the show. I respected Paul Wesley, I didn't like Paul Wesley."

She continues...

CW

"I remember everyone would walk up to me after the show aired and they'd be like, 'Are you and Paul dating in real life?' Because everyone thought that we had such good chemistry."

There's more, folks...

CW

She says that, and I quote: "We despised each other so much, that it read as love. We really just didn't get along the first maybe five months of shooting."

And more...

CW

She explains why the two of them might have had some issues:

"When you work with anyone, or are spending a lot of time with anyone, little things are gonna annoy you about them."

And finally...

CW

She makes a joke about marriage, saying:

"It's like a relationship, we were basically married — we were together every day, we were kissing and doing all this stuff. But we didn't have sex, so, yeah, just like a marriage!"

Things have gotten better, though.

Giphy

Through the years, the two of them have apparently put aside their differences and have become pretty good friends.

Even going as far as to post on Instagram together!

Wow! Now I know it's real!

She called their reunion magical. So sweet!

It actually looks like two link up quite a bit.

The two were spotted at a wedding together at the same table.

It's nice that they could be friends after all that time on screen together!

They celebrated their pal Kevin Williamson's birthday, too.

He serves as a very important role in their life because he helped write the screenplay for The Vampire Diaries.

Nina isn't the only actress who wasn't fond of her on-screen love interest.

Mila Kunis wasn't particularly a fan of now husband Ashton Kutcher when they starred on That '70s Show.

And now the couple are married. So you just never know.

For example:

CW

After that tirade talking about how much she hated him, Nina changed her tune when talking about the present:

"We're probably the closest, like, we hang out a lot and we're really good friends and I love his wife."

And so...

CW

After all this, Nina finishes her grand speech with some sweet words:

"It's so funny how much has changed because I never thought that he would be one of my best friends."
