Cap'n Crunch's Strawberry Shortcake Flavor Is Dessert For Breakfast

I don't care how old you are, you're never too old to enjoy sugary cereals.

Sure, you may be grown-up enough to know that it's far from a balanced breakfast, but that doesn't mean you can't treat yourself to a childhood favorite every now and then.

My #1 favorite cereal is Apple Cinnamon Cheerios, but Cap'n Crunch holds the crown when it comes to nostalgia.

Really, I'd forgotten how much I loved those soft-palate-tearing bunches of corn and oats, until I started working here at Diply, l where Cap'n Crunch is a staple of the office kitchen.

While I'll never stop loving the classic, it's the special edition flavors that are so exciting.

I'm not talking Chrunch Berries here. I'm talking the sugar bombs of nostalgia like the recent Cotton Candy flavor.

You can't even pretend that these flavors are a healthy breakfast.

And that's okay, assuming that you aren't eating it for every breakfast for the rest of eternity. A box here and there isn't going to kill you.

I'm not a parent, though, so if you have kids, it may be better to avoid these sugar bombs.

While the Cotton Candy flavor ended up a bit too sweet for my liking, I am HERE for the Strawberry Shortcake.

This flavor has been quietly popping up in stores for the last couple of months, with no official announcement.

Oddly, it's only available in the big bagged packaging and not a classic cereal box.

The most common pace people seem to be finding it is Walmart, so I'm definitely going to look for a bag next time I'm running errands.
