Victoria's Secret has been in hot water over the last few months and the lingerie store is trying to win back its customers.
With their latest choice for an Angel, fans are definitely happy but still can't get over the brand's recent controversies.
Victoria's Secret has been in hot water over the last few months and the lingerie store is trying to win back its customers.
With their latest choice for an Angel, fans are definitely happy but still can't get over the brand's recent controversies.
Official Angels have exclusive contracts with the brand, serve as ambassadors and of course, wear wings in the annual Victoria's Secret fashion show.
There have been six black Angels (including Leomie) out of 40 since the brand started choosing Angels.
"Mate.... I still can’t BELIEVE IT," tweeted Leomie. That would pretty much be my reaction, too. Congrats, Leomie!
Leomie has spoken out in the past on issues like diversity in the modeling industry and has modeled for LAPP, which spreads awareness about women's issues through fashion.
She's basically an icon in every way imaginable.
There are now 15 Victoria's Secret Angels, which is more than the company has had in the past. This wasn't the only reason why people felt conflicted over this news.
Back in November 2018, Ed Razek, the chief marketing officer of L Brands (the Victoria's Secret parent company) told Vogue that the company wasn't interested in marketing clothes to plus-size women.
Some people can't help but feel that this is a publicity stunt to try and earn back consumers' trust.
It's pretty clear that Twitter saw this as the first piece of good news to come from the brand in a long time.
And if you're wondering hmmmm, she still doesn't look anything like ME, you're 1000000 percent correct.
To even suggest so is laughable.
I mean, I dreamt of it too but weirdly enough, NOTHING HAPPENED!
Maybe Leomie will change things for the better as a Victoria's Secret Angel? Let's hope so because people are still skeptical of the company.
