Obviously, the two grew really close over the years, and Kristoff's passing was devastating for Shemar.

He took to Instagram to share several tributes to his former co-star and friend.

The first was an emotional video, where he held back tears and really spoke from the heart.

"I lost my brother yesterday. I never had a brother but you were my brother," he said.

He made it clear in his first video that he was going to celebrate Kristoff, and all of his accomplishments.

He shared a throwback photo from Soap Opera Digest.

"YOU showed me the way....I'll do the rest," he captioned the next photo of the two.

It's nice to see that Shemar is choosing to celebrate Kristoff the way he is.

He wrote that Kristoff was the "most popular, Iconic, African American Soap Star EVER."

"He EARNED IT," Shemar wrote.

Over the course of his career, Kristoff earned nine Daytime Emmy nominations for his role.

"This ain't goodbye brother... Watch me make you proud!!" he wrote in another post.

Shemar wrote that Kristoff will "go chill out" and that he was going to carry the torch from now on.

Such a sweet tribute.
