Zac Efron's Controversial Ted Bundy Movie Is Coming To Netflix
Although there are a lot of people who are excited to see the movie, there are plenty who are upset about it.

Either way, it looks like it's hitting Netflix which means that a lot of people are about to have opinions.
"Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile" has especially caught the attention of true crime fans.

It's not everyday the true story of one of the most vicious men in the world is getting mega popularity from mainstream media.
With all that attention comes the obligatory push back from a certain part of the population.

The film has been dubbed "controversial" after some people felt that choosing Zac Efron was romanticizing Bundy.
Many true crime experts are disagreeing with this idea, as Bundy was a notorious womanizer.
Not ever serial killer "looks" like our traditional idea of a serial killer.
Among those that disagree is a survivor of Bundy's, Kathy Kleiner Rubin.

She has spoken out in support of Efron saying, "I believe that, in order to show him exactly the way it was, it’s not really glorifying him, but it’s showing him. And when they do say positive and wonderful things about him, that’s who they saw. That’s who Bundy wanted you to see.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix was able to close the deal.

Apparently, its U.S. and some international audiences will be able to stream the movie come October. A source says that Netflix spent $9 million to snag the film, THR claims.
Netflix wining the rights to this movie is pretty fitting.

It wasn't long ago that they released the four-part docuseries, Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes.
The Ted Bundy Tapes have introduced a new audience to the horrors and reality of the serial killer in the mid 70's.
As Netflix suggests, do not watch the series alone!
The serial killer genre is nothing new to Netflix.

They are also home to many true crime docuseries such as Making A Murderer, The Keepers. and Abducted in Plain Sight, among others.
And with an evergrowing fanbase, this is probably the right move for Netflix, in an effort to keep their customers from jumping ship.

Many subscribers have complained about the ever growing monthly price of their favorite streaming site.
Remember when Netflix spent $100 million on renewing their 'Friends' contract for ONE YEAR?
I will never be over this and in return it's repercussions cough higher monthly fee's cough.
In my personal opinion, I think Zac Efron is the perfect choice.
Why take such a large platform and perpetuate a lie about Bundy or his personality?
I don't think any actor playing Bundy could be able to deter people from the fact that he seduced, kidnapped and killed over 30 women.

Bundy's charm and charisma is what allowed him to get away with his crimes for as long as he did.
Whether you think it's controversial or not, let's agree to give it a chance.
