Someone Called Meghan Markle A 'Fat Lady' To Her Face And Her Response Is Perfect

Prince Harry has really found himself a keeper. For somebody who wasn't technically ever supposed to be apart of the royal family, she has been killing it, and we love her for it!

So, If you're ever wondering what the appropriate response to being called a "fat lady" is, look no further. Meghan Markle handled it like true royalty.

We've been gushing over Meghan and Harry since day one.

And how can we not? Their relationship is the ultimate fairytale, a Disney princess movie come true. It's surreal.

Their love story could be a movie.

It's incredibly remarkable that an American woman starts from the bottom of the barrel, becomes a famous actress on a hit TV show, then marries an actual prince, and becomes a duchess.

Meghan is basically living every girl's dream.

Her life is one of the most cinematic and romantic things I have ever witnessed. She's defied all odds, gone from rags to riches, commoner to royalty.

I don't think I've seen a better looking couple in my life.

They're a pretty big deal worldwide for being royalty, and are still, hands-down, one of the most gorgeous couples out there.

So when we found out Meghan was pregnant, we couldn't be happier.

Now they're bringing a new member into the royal family, and the excitement is totally justified.

Just days ago, Meghan revealed when the royal baby is due.

And it looks like Meghan and Harry are going to have a little baby Virgo on their hands, because the baby is due at the end of spring!

Meghan is expecting to deliver the baby in April, 2019.

You know what this means: Meghan is going to be rocking tons of adorable, summertime maternity looks in just a few months that we can all admire from afar.

It won't be long until they are a family of three!

It's totally normal to be this excited about a growing family that isn't my own, right?

We're ready for a gender reveal, anytime now.

But sadly, the couple has opted to wait until the baby is born to find out the sex.

But we're crossing our fingers that they change their minds and throw a giant, royal gender reveal, and soon!

So, recently, Meghan went to visit the Mayhew charity animal shelter.

Yes, it was as cute and pure-hearted as it sounds.

I mean, it's kind of apart of her job to make appearances at these sorts of things. But it's still adorable nonetheless. I'd call it a job perk.

She really is the whole package.

Is it possible the Meghan Markle is the human equivalent or embodiment of an angel? Don't answer that. I'm already convinced.

And now I want a puppy.

Meghan Markle might be sparking a lot of baby fever in many women. But right now, I'm getting serious puppy-fever.

This pup is stealing the show!

Once she was inside the shelter, the mama-to-be had a lot of hands to shake.

Naturally, the Duchess of Sussex is someone that everyone is dying to meet, so Meghan did her due-diligence.

And paws to shake.

It would be rude of her not to meet with every dog there, let them know they're a good boy, and give them a firm handshake, or paw-shake, rather.

Everyone was very friendly, commenting on her baby-bump, and congratulating her on her pregnancy.

Everyone at the shelter followed the basic meeting-a-pregnant-woman protocol, telling her how beautiful she looked, and that she's glowing— all very classic go-to's.

But one person in particular took the liberty of switching up what's acceptable to say to a pregnant woman.

Nothing wrong with free-styling, trying out a new greeting, or wanting to be creative.

Totally harmless, right?

Our ears do not deceive us. That woman called Meghan Markle a "fat lady."

The good news is, she didn't say it maliciously.

It was totally lighthearted, and in no way meant to make Meghan feel bad about herself.

It may have not been the most ideal way to address the Duchess. But the damage is already done.

Meghan handled it well. She laughed it off, and continued to meet with the rest of the people in the shelter. "I'll take it!" she responded.

Either it's clear that she received the joke well, or she's an even better actress than we thought.

It turns out, in many African American cultures, being "fat" is actually a good thing!

So, she didn't misspeak, after all. The comment came from a good place!

Apparently, it is quite common in Jamaican culture to use the word "fat" when referring to pregnancy.

Okay, so she's is off the hook. No harm, no foul.

This is what nervous laughter looks like, everybody.

Since laughter is contagious, I would have reacted the exact same way— in hopes to spark a chain reaction of laughter.

Some people think that the woman didn't call her fat at all.

This is going to be another "Yanny vs Laurel" situations, isn't it?

I'm on team "fat lady" 'cause that's way more hilarious.

Either way, Meghan is looking flawless, and she handled the situation with the kind of class we should all strive for.

She really could not have handled being called a "fat lady" better.

She was classy, and graceful — all great signs that she's going to make a wonderful mum.

But a word to the wise — don't go around calling pregnant women fat, just because Meghan laughed it off.

Just...trust me on this.
