Here's Why Meghan Markle Is Always Wearing Shoes That Are Too Big

When it comes to the royal family, fans and spectators don't miss a thing.

Naturally, people were quick to catch on when Meghan was wearing heels that were seemingly a size too big. There had to be a reason for it, right?

All eyes are on Meghan and Harry, anytime they step out in public.

When the sales tag on her dress was just barely visible, people still called her out for it, almost immediately.

A lot of people couldn't help but notice that when it comes to footwear, Meghan typically wears heels that are too big.

And it's not while she's running errands, either. Her heels didn't fit properly during her engagement announcement.

I say that as if Meghan "runs errands" anymore.

It's not something I noticed before, but the more I looked, the more it became clear that this is a reoccurring thing with Meghan.

It's not something that's blatantly obvious unless you zoom right in on her feet, which is kind of a weird thing to do, I'm aware.

The common trend seems to be that there's a lot of extra room around the heels of her feet.

Now, I don't wear heels all that often, but I know that if they don't fit properly, it can increase your chance of tripping or spraining your ankle, right?

Thankfully, we finally have some answers to this burning question of ours.

Dr. Suzanne Levine, a podiatrist at the Institut Beauté in New York City, opened up to TODAY about why Meghan opts for the larger sized heels.

“I guess what she’s doing is trying to avoid any kind of skin breakdown or blisters,” she explained.

That makes a lot of sense. When you're a royal, you can't run around with scabby, blistery feet like us peasants do.

Another possibility could be that because Meghan is often wearing heels for extended periods of time, it's her way of avoiding swelling and inflammation.

And it's not like she can run to the washroom and change into a comfy pair of flats midway through an event.

She's a royal, there are protocols!

Meghan could also have one foot that's slightly bigger than the other.

“She may also have a size discrimination between both feet, that they’re both not the same size, so she’s going up to the larger one,” Dr. Levine explained.

Still, it's important to remember that it's not a good idea to constantly wear shoes that aren't your proper size.

If you need extra space, make sure that it's only half a size up, not a full size. Protect those feet, and embrace the blisters!
