Heidi Klum's 2018 Halloween Costume Finally Revealed

Heidi Klum always goes all out when it comes to her Halloween costumes. Each year brings anticipation and excitement and 2018 did not disappoint, with Klum and boyfriend Tom Kaulitz stunning folks as a realistic version of Shrek and Princess Fiona.

Klum revealed her 2018 costume piece by piece on Instagram before the grand appearance at her annual Halloween party on Wednesday. And as she told Us Weekly, each year has become an extreme process in order to craft the perfect costume:

“I have to because I never want to be recognizable because I feel like I always make the biggest party and so I want people to dream and also encourage themselves to be a little more out there with their own costumes.”

The Process Begins

It does seem to help when you have an entire team of people helping you, but it is hard to judge when the payoff is so great.

Surprise, Surprise

And as she began to reveal her costume, you can read through and judge the excitement of folks attempting to figure out what she's going to be.

All Smiles

The one thing that is certain is how much fun Klum makes Halloween each year. Some refer to her as the Queen of Halloween and others have followed her cue to get creative. No matter what, it is pretty clear that she brings smiles to the holiday -- and sometimes behind something extremely horrifying.

The Cat Out Of The Bag

Once things were revealed, folks could stop speculating and just enjoy. Shrek and Fiona might not be the most frightening costume choice, but the quality can't be denied here.

The Process Behind It All

You also have to appreciate the behind-the-scenes sessions we're getting here from Klum. It's a lot of work to get to this point, but imagine the folks who manage this level of costume WITHOUT the entire makeup team.

Keep This In Mind

That's the aspect that anybody can take from this. You might feel jealous that Klum can achieve this level of masquerade thanks to her status, but plenty of others have managed better with less.

Halloween is what you make of it.

Is 'Shrek' Scary?

Maybe this is a little creepy, though. I wouldn't want to run into this face in the middle of the night.

Heidi Klum's Past Costumes

Heidi Klum's Halloween creativity stretches back close to 20 years at this point, with varying levels of quality throughout. While some of her early choices were more reserved, she would gradually ramp things and walk out with something incredible.

Take her Betty Boop from 2002.

Lady Godiva, 2001

Clearly nobody was struck blind by this costume.

Vampire, 2005

A classic vampire, not your Twilight type or the versions Anne Rice wrote about.

Forbidden Fruit / The Snake From The Garden, 2006

You have to love that she was pregnant at the time and still managed to go all out.

Cat, 2007

Keeping it simple, but not too simple. She could've easily just done the cat ears and been done with it, but went all out.

Goddess Kali, 2008

Possibly her best? But there's a lot of competition in the years to follow. Still pretty amazing.

Crow, 2009

Another reserved choice compared to the surrounding costumes, but still better than the typical hockey mask many choose each year.

Glitter Robot, 2010

She learned to walk on stilts here!

Skinless, 2011

Another top choice and truly something creepy. It's like something out of Hellraiser.

Butterfly, 2014

Just pure insanity.

Elderly Klum, 2013

How many people thought that Heidi had accidentally found that painting she'd hidden in the attic?

Jessica Rabbit, 2015

Similar to her choice in 2018, this Jessica Rabbit costume is the cartoon brought to life and turned semi-realistic.

Clones, 2016

Klum cloned herself in 2016. This might seem like cheating just a bit, but that's nitpicking.

Thriller, 2017

2017 is the one to top at this point. Just the work involved!
