'Deadpool' Director Reveals Drama Ryan Reynolds Caused On Set

Uh-oh! It looks like we're going to learn all about how Ryan Reynolds, Canada's sweetheart, was a total drama queen on the set of Deadpool.

Well, it had to come out someday. No one is perfect, not even our favorite Canadian actor (as much as we like to think he is).

We live in a world surrounded by superhero movies.

Marvel

Whether you like them or not, they're not going away any time soon.

They make too much money for one thing, and for another, people just really love a good heroic story!

Some of them are really great superhero films.

DC

Like Wonder Woman, Black Panther, The Avengers, and more!

Then there are some flops like Green Lantern and Fantastic Four.

But we still watch all of them.

There are even some phenomenal superhero television shows!

DC

DC seems to have the handle on that, considering the success of the Arrowverse.

Whatever they can't do in film, they do successfully on television.

But there is one movie that stands above the rest.

Marvel

One movie that, even if it gets beat at the box office, will stand above the rest for its comedy, actors, and action.

'Deadpool' was a triumph.

Marvel

And a lot of the thanks can go to its star, Ryan Reynolds, who fought hard to have this movie made.

Plus, for comic book fans, this was a character they were desperately waiting to see come to life.

When 'Deadpool' began the process of being made, they cast Ryan Reynolds in the lead.

Marvel

Which was a no brainer considering the fact that he had already appeared in Wolverine as Wade Wilson.

But considering the absolute disrespect to his character in that movie, people really wanted a movie to fix his story.

Marvel

And thankfully, Marvel is pretty good at listening to their fans.

So we got what we asked for.

Little did we know, 'Deadpool' would go on to be one of the greatest Marvel movies ever.

Marvel

It didn't matter that it wasn't part of the MCU, what mattered was the energy that Ryan Reynolds brought to the table.

Plus, Reynolds brought a lot of people in who weren't even comic book fans!

People just love a good Ryan Reynolds movie!

He's funny, he's enjoyable to watch, and he's easy on the eyes, which definitely doesn't hurt.

Or is he?

Recently, the director of the first Deadpool, Tim Miller (who didn't do the second Deadpool due to disagreements with Ryan Reynolds), came out to tell the world how the star acted on set.

Tim Miller got pretty candid about what it was like on set with the star.

Marvel

"It became clear that Ryan wanted to be in control of the franchise," he said, finishing with, "You can work that way as a director, quite successfully, but I can't."

Yikes.

Ryan Reynolds was very clear about what went down on set.

"Tim Miller is a visual effects wizard. But there are character and tone things that I know really well. And I've also been with this thing the longest out of anybody, aside from the guys that wrote the comics."

Apparently, things weren't always hunky-dory on the 'Deadpool' set.

Marvel

"There were vaguely scary fights in the post-production process that escalated quickly," said Reynolds, alluding to the fact that he and Tim Miller didn't always see eye to eye.

Thankfully, the movies still came out successfully, despite the difference of opinions.

Marvel

Because really, that's the most important thing.

Whatever Ryan wanted to do with the character clearly worked out for the best!
