Quite The Competition

The movie emerged victorious from a strong pool of competitors racing for the Best Picture Award such as Women Talking, Top Gun: Maverick, All Quiet On The Western Front, Triangle of Sadness, Elvis, The Banshees of Inisherin, Avatar: The Way of Water, TAR, and The Fabelmans.

Best Actor In A Leading Role

The Oscars for Best Actor in a Leading Role was swept by Brendan Fraser for his role as Charlie in the movie The Whale.

Stepping Into The Multiverse

Fraser tearfully accepted the award and said, "So this is what the multiverse looks like. I thank the Academy for this honor and our studio A24 for making such a bold film."

A Creative Lifeline

He continued his acceptance speech, saying, "I'm grateful to Darren Aronofsky for throwing me a creative lifeline and hauling me aboard the good ship 'The Whale'. It was written by Samuel D. Hunter, who is our lighthouse."
